Lost in the New Year transition shuffle (read: too much spiked eggnog) is the fact that while December was WatchMojo.com’s second best month ever (after March 2008), Q4 2008 (Oct, Nov and Dec) was far and away our best quarter ever:

- Q1 2008: 6.9M streams
- Q2 2008: 6.1M streams
- Q3 2008: 5.1M streams
- Q4 2008: 9.06M streams - *record
= total for 2008: over 27M streams... when all of the streams are tallied and in, the final figure will be over 28M, I presume.  And this is up from 13M streams in full-year 2007, which is a spike of 115%.

These figures actually exclude a number of partners who give us delayed stats or no stats, and only represent online streams, but you get the idea… Q4 was very solid.

The most impressive part is how we manage to generate/drive streams to older clips, which prove that our editorial and distribution model are overcoming the market’s two challenges:

Online video lives fast, dies young.

Web series struggle to hold on to audiences.

I think that 2009 is all about separating the crap from the quality, and this explains YouTube’s latest move.
