Blockbuster Inc. has just announced that they will soon require bankruptcy protection. This has resulted from declining sales and rising online competition. In fact, its shares have plummeted 30 per cent today alone. So, needless to say its not a good time to be a Blockbuster stock holder. Ouch. continue reading...

jurassic-park-4.jpg

Jurassic Park 3 was pretty terrible in every respect. It felt cheap, the acting & story were cringeworthy and Dr. Grant had a homoerrotic-like relationship with his understudy. Well, the director of that film, Joe Johnston has been talking about a fourth installment for some time. Recently, during the press for The Wolfman, Johnston had the following to say: continue reading...

Is nothing sacred? Apparently not…The karate Kid has been remade and will be arriving on June 11th of this year. The film stars Will Smith’s son and Jackie Chan as his master.

Here’s the films synopsis:
12-year-old Dre Parker could’ve been the most popular kid in Detroit, but his mother’s latest career move has landed him in China. Dre immediately falls for his classmate Mei Ying - and the feeling is mutual - but cultural differences make such a friendship impossible. Even worse, Dre’s feelings make an enemy of the class bully, Cheng. In the land of kung fu, Dre knows only a little karate, and Cheng puts “the karate kid” on the floor with ease. With no friends in a strange land, Dre has nowhere to turn but maintenance man Mr. Han, who is secretly a master of kung fu. As Han teaches Dre that kung fu is not about punches and parries, but maturity and calm, Dre realizes that facing down the bullies will be the fight of his life. continue reading...

Last night I was treated to a discovery of epic proportions. As someone who enjoys animation with odd situational/random comedy with shock value, I have to admit that I was unprepared for the misguided adventures of Charlie the Unicorn.

Needless to say I immediately looked up more of the musical episodes and to my delight found two others. Fortunately, are three all worth watching, with special emphasis on the end of the third adventure! continue reading...

zemeckis-studio-shut-down.png “How do you like me now?”

He’s made such beloved classics as the Pepsi filled Back to The Future Trilogy, but in recent years he’s turned exclusively to CGI animated projects. These have included Beowulf, The polar Express and A Christmas Carol. Now, Zemeckis’ ImageMovers Digital studio is being forced closed by its parent company. Guess which overpowered corporation that is. Here’s a hint… its run by a talking rat mouse. continue reading...

flash_gordon_movie_poster.jpg

Are you a huge retro junk fan? Well today I’m feeling nostalgic for the 1980’s classic Flash Gordon. When you watch the trailer keep in mind that this came out between the Original Star Wars and The Empire Strikes Back. What where they thinking? That’s like racing against a sports car with an rickety wagon! Stooipid! continue reading...
