Jason Bourne goes to Iraq?  But seriously, this is directed by Paul Greengrass who directed the last 2 Bourne movies, so it will probably be pretty good.  Here’s the first look:

This is classic.  Matt Damon is my hero.  I didn’t watch a single episode of season six of Entourage, but this 30 second clip makes me want to check it out! Watch Matt Damon go mental:

I would love to see a 4th Bourne movie and since The Bourne Ultimatum there has been a few tantalizing rumors that suggested it would be happening sooner rather than later.  Here is some brief information from Matt Damon regarding the next installment.  From Collider.com:

While promoting his History Channel special “The People Speak”, Matt Damon was asked about the 4th installment of the Bourne franchise and it’s not good news for fans of Damon’s alter ego. He said, “none us have kind of seen a script yet and Paul’s still cutting a movie that we worked on.”

This is disheartening news as back in October of 2008, Universal reported George Nolfi had been hired to write a script for the 4th film. But with Damon saying none of them had seen a script, one can surmise that George hasn’t finished writing it yet or no one was happy with the draft. Either way, we’re a long way from a 4th installment. As a big fan of the franchise, I’m hoping this one comes together.

This is fantastic! From the Boston Herald:

Matt Damon will return as Jason Bourne in a fourth installment of the series about the amnesiac super spy, Universal Pictures announced yesterday in Variety.

Now, when the third flick, “The Bourne Ultimatum” hit theaters last year, the Cambridge homey and the film’s director Paul Greengrass played coy when asked about another sequel. There are, after all, six books in the series on which the films are based.

Matt and Paul’s stock answer was that they’d be game if the other was game, yada, yada, yada. So it appears after yesterday’s announcement, they gave a fourth “Bourne” two-thumbs up.

Greengrass, who will direct the sequel also helmed the “Bourne Supremacy” and “Bourne Ultimatum.” Doug Limen of “Jumper” fame directed the first Bourne blockbuster, “Bourne Identity.”

On Sunday night, the latest of Jason Bourne’s international exploits won three Academy Awards - Best Sound Editing, Best Film Editing and Best Sound Mixing.

The best movie of the summer comes to DVD on December 10th.  If you haven’t seen it yet you are an idiot. No joke.

Bursting with energy and tension, the action film of the decade The Bourne Ultimatum, finally explodes on to the small screen. From the acclaimed British director, Paul Greengrass (United 93, The Bourne Supremacy), this latest high octane instalment in the Bourne franchise charges across the screen from the opening sequence with an intensity and intelligence equal to none.

The voltage is high, the action is relentless and the suspense palpable as Jason Bourne (Matt Damon) continues the hunt for his identity. With no high-tech gadgets, flashy cars or cheesy one-liners, Bourne is a trained killer who relies on pure guile, strength and stealth to keep him alive. His search takes him across the globe, all the while ruthlessly pursued by former employer, the CIA. From the opening chase on foot to the tense cat-and-mouse hunts across rooftops and continents, the pace never drops a gear.

Picking up from where  its predecessor (The Bourne Supremacy), left off, the Bourne Ultimatum opens to see Jason Bourne evading Moscow police before disappearing under the radar once more. Resurfacing in Paris, an article in The Guardian newspaper, reignites his determination to discover the truth  - who is he? His answer lies with the journalist behind the story, Simon Ross (Paddy Considine – Hot Fuzz) But Ross is now under surveillance by the CIA and when a rendezvous is arranged at London’s Waterloo station, director Greengrass beautifully orchestrates one of the most unpredictable and ingenious chase scenes in film history.

Bourne goes head to head with Pamela Landy (Joan Allen –Upside of Anger), recruited by cunning CIA Deputy Director Noah Vosen (David Strathairn – Good Night & Good Luck). Landy is an experienced covert operator and an expert in hunting down men. On Bourne’s unrelenting journey towards the truth, he meets disillusioned CIA operative Nicky Parsons (Julia Stiles – The Omen), who joins him on a quest that takes them both to Tangier.

As the film reaches a furious climax, the ante is upped as Bourne heads to the CIA substation in New York. In a showdown of ingenuity, thrilling action and mounting momentum, Bourne edges closer to unlocking the final secrets of his identity and fitting together the final pieces of the marauding jigsaw of his fragmented existence.

A rollercoaster ride from start to finish the Bourne Ultimatum is a gritty and gripping spy thriller that is as slick and subtle as its amnesiac hero. Included with the DVD is a host of extras which invites viewers to witness the pioneering creation, effects and film making which has made what critics claim to be the finest action movie ever made.  Universal Pictures (UK) presents The Bourne Ultimatum, pure edge-of-the-seat, adrenaline fuelled action out to own and rent on DVD, HD DVD, Download-to-Own from 10th December 2007.

The Ultimate Bourne Collection and a Limited Edition version will also be available to own from 10th December 2007.
