Nicole Richie has publicly confirmed she is four months pregnant, fathered by Joel Madden of pop/rock band Good Charlotte.
Richie will also being doing time behind bars and committing some hours to drug and alcohol classes after being charged for driving while under the influence of drugs.
“That pillow-in-front-of-the-tummy trick was only going to work for so long.
Nicole Richie has finally confirmed she is expecting a baby with live-in rocker boyfriend Joel Madden this winter, simultaneously putting an end to many weeks of rumors and reinvigorating the market for size-2 maternity clothes.”

For the record, this is being postly merely with the realization and acknowledgement that people are gung-ho over what Nicole Richie does with every waking moment of her life. She has not done anything worth celebrity status, so what is up with the gossip? Call me a hypocrite if you will, but I have stated my case. I plead guilty, if it will make Miss. Richie feel less so.
Matthew Good certainly has something to be happy about this week. Good’s long hours in the studio has paid off with his second solo album reaching the number 1 spot across Canada with over 11,000 copies sold since its release, based on the records of Nielsen SondScan.
Am I the only one who was not even aware of the fact that Good had gone solo? I suppose this says enough about the success of his first solo effort.
“A No. 1 album is exactly what the doctor ordered for outspoken and cantankerous Canrocker Matthew Good.
His second solo effort, “Hospital Music,” checked into the No. 1 spot in the nation, selling over 11,000 copies, according to figures compiled by Nielsen SoundScan.
It marks the first time in eight years that Good has been on top of the album charts, since the Matthew Good Band led the way with “Beautiful Midnight” back in 1999.”

As if this woman isn’t rich enough, Jennifer Lopez filed a lawesuit against Ojani Noa, her first of two ex-husbands (and she is currently in her third marriage to singer Marc Anthony, in case this interests you), who is now forking over $545,000 due to breaking a ground rule in relation to exposing her privacy to the public.
“LOS ANGELES (AP) - Jennifer Lopez was awarded nearly US$545,000 in a lawsuit against her first husband over his plans to publish a tell-all book claiming she had several affairs.
A court-ordered arbitrator made the decision in April in Lopez’s breach-of-contract suit against Ojani Noa, court papers filed Monday indicated. The figure includes only $200,000 in damages, with the rest going for arbitration costs and attorney’s fees.”
Interesting. On the bright side, at least she isn’t trying to file a lawsuit about her $1 million dollar-insured butt, right? Read the full article about the lawsuit against Noa here.
Atreyu have filmed a video series documenting the recording process of their new album, Lead Sails Paper Anchor, due out August 28th. Atreyu teamed with producer John Feldmann (The Used, Good Charlotte) on the follow-up to A Death-Grip On Yesterday. This next installment of the video series opens Atreyu’s book of guitar-methodology and open highway of creative writing between guitarists Dan Jacobs and Travis Miguel on Lead Sails Paper Anchor. The Stills are one of my favorite bands. Their first album got a lot of attention, but many wrote the band off as Interpol wannabes and it obviously had an effect on them. Their second album, Without Feathers was a radical shift in sound and a rejigging of the band. I personally think that both albums are ace and showcase a band that is willing to change things around and still create passionate and interesting music.
Anyways, its high time I featured a Stills video and I chose my favorite song off the first album, “Lola Stars and Stripes”. The video has some great shifts from calm to chaotic and black and white to color, that all synch with the musical shifts. And for some reason I always enjoy videos with bands running… Check it out:
July was an eventful month for the White Rabbits as they made various live appearances, including the David Letterman Show and Siren Festival, in support of their debut album, Fort Nightly. And somewhere along the line they found the time to make a pit stop in the Midwest for an impressive Daytrotter Session, where they recorded three previously unreleased songs hinting at even greater things to come and a live rendition of Fort Nightly’s “Navy Wives.”
The White Rabbits gave the audience a stellar performance of “The Plot” on the David Letterman Show on Thursday, July 19th, helping earn the newbie group a handful of press attention. Pitchfork Forkast writes, “…New York six-some White Rabbits’ recent appearance on “Late Show” seems particularly remarkable for a band garnering praise from blogs and online zines for a debut record, Fort Nightly, on the small Say Hey imprint.” Read more of what Pitchfork has to say. If you missed the show, no worries! You can watch a clip of the band’s live performance on YouTube.
The White Rabbits also made an appearance at Village Voice’s Siren Festival on July 21st in New York’s very own Coney Island in Brooklyn (www.villagevoice.com/siren). Check out Spinner’s The DL episode featuring White Rabbits and other Siren Fest artists here.
The band kicked off another US tour following their appearance at Siren, and Muzzle of Bees was there to witness their Madison, Wisconsin date. After playing every song on Fort Nightly, White Rabbits treated fans with a cover of Bob Dylan’s “Maggie’s Farm” as their encore. Muzzle of Bees writes, “The crowd definitely would have stuck around for a couple more tunes, but the band politely reminded the crowd they are “a young band” and had tapped their reserves.”
Be sure to catch the White Rabbits live on tour with The Cribs and Kaiser Chiefs before they wrap up in September.
