Not sure why National Geographic Ventures is releasing this, but if you’re sick of seeing U2 in 2-D, here’s your chance to get as close as possible to experiencing the group live in the flesh without actually going to see them in concert live in the flesh.

U2’s concert film, ’U2 3D’, will be released on January 25 in the UK.

As previously reported on NME.COM, the film was shot in South America during the band’s ’Vertigo’ tour of 2005 and 2006, and will be released by National Geographic Film Ventures.

‘U2 3D’ was co-directed by Mark Pellington, who directed the promo video for the band’s ’One’ single.

Can someone please tell me what these “singers” have done to deserve having an airplane named in their “honour”?

‘Spice One’ takes off at LAX

The Spice Girls have revealed the name of a Virgin Atlantic jumbo jet named in their honour.

The band were on hand at the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) last night (December 12) to unveil the Boeing 747 that has been christened ‘Spice One’.

As promotion for their on-going reunion world tour, the band held a competition in which fans attempted to come up with the winning name for the jet.

The Girls selected three finalists and let online voters determine the winner. The final three competing names were Spice Girl, Girl Power and Spice One.

The winning name came from Diogo Yomane of Brazil.

The Spice Girls released their debut album with the Virgin record label in 1996.
