Check out PCD TV Episode 3.5:
This summer won’t be remembered for the warm weather, ice cream trucks or girls in bikinis. 2008 is an “FNMTV Summer!” What is “FNMTV?” A 24/7 non-stop summer music celebration for and by the music fans, combining the best music experiences from TV and the Web. Each week MTV will premiere exclusive music videos and performances from the most talked about and soon to be talked about musicians. But in the end, it is all about the fans – as MTV turns over the controls to let them create their own music experiences on MTV.com and choose the best of the best to make it onto MTV for the world to see.
Kicking off “FNMTV” will be “FNMTV Premieres…” beginning Friday, June 13th at 8pm ET/PT. The new Friday night music event, hosted by talented musician, entrepreneur and activist, Pete Wentz of Fall Out Boy, will shine the spotlight on what viewers love best about music on television – the exclusive, epic live event that can’t be missed. Each week MTV will exclusively debut the hottest videos and set the stage for amazing live performances and special guest appearances. Artists featured on “FNMTV Premieres…” will range from the up and coming to the already arrived. Panic at the Disco, Flo-Rida, The Ting Tings, Snoop Dogg, Lil’ Wayne, The Pussycat Dolls, Duffy, Boys Like Girls and Vampire Weekend are some of the enormous talent already confirmed for the show.
After the debut of exclusive new videos and live performances each Friday night, the show never stops throughout the week, as fans are invited to put their own take on the music they have seen — like it? hate it? play with it, create it, and totally reinterpret it! Can you measure up to the vocal stylings of Usher? Send in those Karaoke videos! Do you have an opinion about a video you want to weigh in on? We want to hear your review! The FNMTV site on MTV.com will be the place for users to view all the submitted UGC. Music fans will then be the judge and jury as they determine the best of the best fan-submitted content that will make its way back onto the MTV big screen — from fan-submitted videos to user text comments, each showcased with the corresponding music videos played on-air.
“F is for feedback, N is for new, and together ‘FNMTV’ is the summer music event that brings it all together. Starting in June, MTV will focus on exclusive NEW music video premieres, and via mtv.com, the instantaneous feedback from our audience and culture at large as they make the music their own,” said Brian Graden, President of Entertainment, MTV Music Group. “MTV’s new paradigm enables us to not only initiate a conversation around music via flagship premieres, but also reflect that conversation back on television in real time. ‘FNMTV,’ along with interactive amateur competitions like ‘America’s Best Dance Crew’ and ‘Making the Band,’ the perennial viewer-driven ‘TRL,’ further MTV’s mission of enabling this generation’s great musical democracy.”
“Our audience has an insatiable hunger for the new and the fresh… We’re going to be loud about what’s new and use the power of MTV to engage music fans around music videos.” said Amy Doyle, SVP, Music and Talent, MTV. “Every week this summer we are going to highlight the most exciting artists and music and elevate the true art of the music video.”
MHD will also add to the “FNMTV” summer music strategy by airing weekly “FNM TV Premieres… Live Sets” show packages consisting of live performances that were featured on the show. Each performance package will air several times in HD throughout the week after their Friday premiere. In addition, leading up the “FNMTV Premieres…” show’s season finale MHD will run a marathon of all the Live Sets featured.
MTV will ask the audience to submit their UGC creations using MTV Mobile. Also, through text messaging viewers will be able to answer polls and submit comments about videos shown on-air as well as check out select live performance from the “FNMTV Premieres….” show.
Dave Sirulnick and Jesse Ignjatovic (Den of Thieves) serve as Executive Producers for the “FNM TV Premieres…” show. Amy Doyle and Joanna Bomberg serve as Executives in Charge of Music & Talent. Garrett English is Executive in Charge. Jen Jones serves as Producer.
Inspired by the likes of Prince, Carole King and Stevie Wonder and musical genres such as Motown, hair metal and classic rock, Ianuzzi is a classically trained pianist and saxophonist who uses her musical inspirations to create witty songs loaded with wordplay and pop-culture references.
Lauren Ianuzzi ain’t just a pint-sized Jersey girl with thick brown curls, a pearly-white smile and sparkling enthusiasm. She ain’t girlie girl vanilla either. The Bergen County-bred songstress boasts a hustler-like spirit with the vocal chops to match, and there’s no mistaking her tenacity as she madly croons, “I will turn up the heat” in the sultry funk flavors of “Sweat,” one of the many self-penned tunes by the twenty-two-year-old Ianuzzi. She’s been tellin’ it like it is for a long time now. It’s now the world’s turn to catch up and turn an ear.
LAUREN IANUZZI - “A Funk I Won’t Forget”
From the funkalicious pop-soul of “A Funk I Won’t Forget” to the slinky R&B grooves of “Strawberry Poison” and “Love You Now,” it’s quite clear what Ianuzzi’s heart and soul is soaked in. She professes to have been a “reserved tween,” yet her vibrant personality blossomed once more upon high school. “I was totally that kid!” exclaims Ianuzzi. “I was a band nerd and I was in all the choirs. I was in every single music thing I could possibly be in and more.”
She’s previously co-written songs with songwriters such as Jeff Franzel (*NSYNC, Taylor Dayne), Martin Briley (Celine Dion), and Elisa Korenne (Super Sweet Sixteen), while also having recorded with producers such as Adrian Gurvitz (Sheryl Crow, CeCe Winans), Jim Beanz and Charlie Brown (Justin Timberlake, Nelly Furtado), the Noize Trip team (Fergie, The Roots), and Visionary Music Group (Destiny’s Child, Elton John). In January 2008, Ianuzzi opened for Train frontman Pat Monahan and Grammy-nominated songwriter Emily King at the Sundance Film Festival. She also performed at the 25th anniversary gala for the Operation Smile charity in Virginia Beach, VA, where she opened for the Beach Boys with her original song, “Show Me That Smile.” Ianuzzi is currently putting the finishing touches on her first EP, to be entitled “A Funk I Won’t Forget”
Shake up a little of Nikka Costa’s sexy brashness with the smooth soul of Prince and Jill Scott, and add a dash of Carole King — Lauren Ianuzzi will sate you. You ready to meet this Jersey Girl?

From Chartattack.com:
The complete track list for Metallica’s much-anticipated Death Magnetic has finally been confirmed. The Rick Rubin-produced follow-up to 2003’s St. Anger will be released on Sept. 23 through Warner Bros. Records.
The album includes “The Unforgiven III,” a sequel to “The Unforgiven” from 1991’s self-titled effort (a.k.a. the Black Album) and “The Unforgiven II” from 1997’s Reload.
All the songs from Death Magnetic will be playable on Guitar Hero III and Guitar Hero World Tour.
A special edition of the album will come in a coffin-shaped box and include the normal CD, a CD with demos of the songs, a DVD of “making of the album” footage, an exclusive T-shirt, a flag, guitar picks, a fold-out poster and a credit card embossed with a code to redeem a free download of a European show in September.
Metallica covered “Remember Tomorrow” from Iron Maiden’s self-titled first album on Kerrang! magazine’s Maiden Heaven: A Tribute To Iron Maiden, which went on sale in the U.K. on July 16. It can be heard, along with a number of live tracks recorded earlier this year, on Metallica’s MySpace page.
A North American tour is planned for the fall.

Jack’s Mannequin, led by singer-keyboardist Andrew McMahon, will release its second album, entitled The Glass Passenger, on September 30th, 2008 on Sire/Warner Bros. Records.
Co-produced by McMahon and Jim Wirt (Incubus, Hoobastank), The Glass Passenger is the follow-up to the band’s debut Everything in Transit, which was released in August 2005 and debuted at No. 37 on the Billboard Top 200 album chart.
Like that album, The Glass Passenger was written and recorded over the course of nearly two years with McMahon going into the studio whenever inspiration struck. As a result, McMahon describes the album as “a bizarre balance between present and past. I was trying to use the music to sort through and reconcile with the adversity of my past.”
While The Glass Passenger is essentially autobiographical, the album is not meant to serve as a direct description of McMahon’s life. “My past is my past and a lot of this record is about that,” he says “but it’s also about trying to write myself out of it. This is a record about trying to get well. It’s about getting out from underneath something. I want people to receive the music for what it is and not have to contextualize it against my own personal battle.”
Teaser for The Glass Passenger:
Jack’s Mannequin, which McMahon formed in 2004 with guitarist Bobby Anderson, bassist Jonathan Sullivan, and drummer Jay McMillan in Orange County, CA, has been busy touring this year, including an appearance at the Bamboozle Festival in May. They have performed a series of acoustic shows on this year’s Vans Warped Tour, and will hit the road with Paramore on July 28th.
