LaKisha Jones was first introduced to the music scene on the 2007 season of American Idol. LaKisha proved she could hold her own making it into the top four finalists. The most remembered performance for me was her rendition of “I Am Telling You” from the Dreamgirls movie. The soulful singer released her debut album, So Glad I’m Me, in May.
The Michigan native took the stage in Oprah Winfrey’s Tony Award Winning Broadway play, “The Color Purple” and will top the charts with her true R&B style. Her second single, “Same Song” was written by the amazing Diane Warren (Christina Aguilera, Celine Dion, Whitney Houston) and is a great follow up track to the first single off the album, “Let’s Go Celebrate”.
