Bonded Records/Fontana/Universal Music Group, has officially announced the street date of the Aaron Barnhart debut album, MISSING PIECES, which will be released on May 26, 2009 and his single, DAY IN DAY OUT, which will be released nationwide USA, March 23rd, 2009.
The irresistible new single, DAY IN DAY OUT is released in the USA on March 23rd, 2009 through Bonded Records/Fontana/Universal Music Group. DAY IN DAY OUT is one of those rare pop songs that rounds-the-corner every once in a while and is instantly memorable. The debut album, MISSING PIECES, was as Aaron says, “a collection of songs that are a deep part of me and very close to my heart….”
In between shows and throughout the past twelve months, Aaron Barnhart set out to make an album that captured his sexy and powerful live sound. Being a purveyor of soulful music, he wrote MISSING PIECES to express his unique vision while maintaining a sound and feel that is universally appealing.
The album was recorded in Los Angeles over a 12-month period with renowned producer Stuart Brawley [who has over 32 million records sold worldwide, with such artists’ as Michael Jackson, Don Henley, Celine Dion, Josh Groban, Brandy, Avion, Lenka, and nominated for “Producer of the Year” at the Juno Awards]. The 10 tracks on the album showcase Aaron’s incredible musical range. Most of the songs on MISSING PIECES came to life with Aaron writing melodies and lyrics while performing for local Los Angeles crowds.
While recording MISSING PIECES, Brett Tuggle, Musician/Fleetwood Mac shared “I recently had the opportunity to hear a new artist named Aaron Barnhart. I was impressed by his talents as a singer/songwriter and musician. Aaron has that unique gift to be able to write a good song and deliver a vocal performance that is real and exciting to listen to. I believe Aaron has “the goods” to be a lasting force in music. Put on his new CD Missing Pieces, sit back and enjoy the ride…” Aaron recently helped Fleetwood Mac prepare for their upcoming tour and played auxiliary keyboards with the band.
With the announcement of the release date for Aaron Barnhart also comes confirmation of something that had been rumored in recent weeks: Aaron Barnhart is preparing for a series of live performances, coast to coast in the States, to accompany his new album.
Bonded Records CEO David McKenna in a recent interview, discussed MISSING PIECES, “This record is a true developing artist story. I am confident in its ability to stand out from the thousands of other new releases this year. From an incredible human being, we have an album here that has hits, and production unlike most independent label releases.”

Check out the new single “Best Part Of The Day”

Since Urban Mystic took fans of true Soul music by storm in 2004 with his KayGee-produced single “Where Were You?”, the young singer has been on a mission to deliver his quality of powerful vocals and heartfelt lyrics to the masses. On April 28, the Fort Lauderdale native will release the third installment of his momentous Ghetto Revelations musical journey, GRIII: Old School 2 Nu Skool, on SoBe Entertainment.

Urban Mystic’s new single from GRIII is “Best Part of the Day,” an ode to the special time he spends with his favorite lady each day. While he knows the way to a woman’s heart through romantic avenues, Urban Mystic is no stranger to the streets. Growing up surrounded by mayhem in the Fort Lauderdale and Miami areas as a teen, Urban Mystic was fortunately affected by positive influences as well. His roots in the church gave way to a vision to spread his natural gift for song to the mainstream.

He linked with Miami-based SoBe Entertainment, and achieved the dream in 2004 with his debut album Ghetto Revelations. He garnered a smooth buzz with the “Where Were You?” single, and was honored as the 2004 Artist of the Year at the Miami Music Awards. Following strong with the 2005 single “It’s You” featuring Paul Wall, Urban Mystic released his sophomore album Ghetto Revelations II in the Spring of 2006. In the past five years, Urban Mystic has proven that he can blend street-savvy soul anthems and romantic ballads with an edge that few can master.

True to the title, GRIII: Old School 2 Nu Skool will grace music lovers with a variety of songs to take them from the thumping action of the club and excitement of the streets to quiet ardor in the bedroom. Special appearances from reggae stars Beenie Man, Ce’Cile and Shaggy and R&B phenom Phyllisia add multiple layers of classic sound on songs like “So Fly,” “I’m Waiting” and “Why Can’t We?”

Meanwhile, Atlanta’s Yung Joc steps in to offer a youthful Hip Hop perspective on relationships on the album’s lead single “Main Squeeze,” which had a nice run at radio in the Fall of 2008. Flexing his patriotism on the project, Urban Mystic followed strong on the solo tip with his well-received tribute to President Obama, “OBAMA: A Change Has Come.”

The production on GRIII is well-rounded, with powerhouse contributions from Scott Storch, KayGee & Tramp, Steve Morales, Peter Pan, Mac Gordon, RocFaReal, Mike City, D. Drummond and SoBe Entertainment’s own Cecile Barker.

“I’m bringing some new flavor and concepts with this album, spreading my wings a little bit more. I’ve been able to hook up with icons such as Beenie Man and Shaggy, and one of Hip Hop’s finest, Yung Joc, but I still have maintained my own style and swagger as ‘Mr. Soul Man’. I’m definitely going to give my longtime fans what they want, with a little extra. Expect the unexpected - the music will just keep getting better.”

A mere two years ago, Esmée Denters was just a pancake house waitress with a webcam and a dream. An aspiring singer who fell in love with her father’s Stevie Wonder albums as a child, Esmée was 17 when she began posting videos of herself on YouTube singing her favorite hits by Beyoncé, Alicia Keys, P!ink, and Natasha Bedingfield.”I had seen all these videos of amateur singers, which gave me the idea,” she says. “I was just interested in what other people thought of my voice.”  Within nine months, Esmée’s videos had racked up 21 million views, and she became the number one most-subscribed musician in the history of the popular video-sharing website.

Esmée’s clips soon caught the attention of Justin Timberlake - one of her musical idols - who was drawn to her silky, soulful voice, natural charisma and songwriting talent. He then signed her to his label Tenman Records, an imprint of Interscope, and began executive producing and co-producing the majority of her debut album. They lined up an impressive list of noted songwriters and producers to collaborate on the project including Polow Da Don (Usher, Ciara), Stargate (Rihanna, Ne-Yo), OneRepublic frontman Ryan Tedder (Leona Lewis, Natasha Bedingfield), and Toby Gad (Beyoncé, Fergie). The result is an edgy, soulful pop-R&B set that Esmée says truly reflects who she is as a person.

Outta Here - Esmee Denters

Relatability was something that was important to Esmée on her debut outing, which is why she was thrilled for the opportunity to co-write the majority of the songs. Her first single, “Outta Here,” sends a message of female empowerment through a hybrid of urban beats, pop lyrics and rock attitude. Sneak a peek into the studio to learn more about the Dutch beauty when she recorded the track with Justin Timberlake and Polow Da Don.

Poised to become this generation’s ambassador of R&B and soul, Melinda Doolittle will release her hotly-anticipated debut solo album, Coming Back to You, on Hi Fi Recordings in January 2009.  Featuring production by Grammy-nominated producer Mike Mangini (Joss Stone, Run DMC, The Jonas Brothers), Melinda’s debut solo album is an R&B tour de force that combines the fiery electricity of Tina Turner’s early years with the slick production and lush instrumentation of today’s pop-soul renaissance.

Recorded with a team of live musicians in Nashville and New York City, Coming Back to You displays Melinda’s extraordinary talent and versatility as a vocalist and sees her seamlessly transcend genres as she combines R&B, soul, blues, jazz and funk to create a sound all her own.  From the first note, Melinda reaches back into a rich pool of musical influences and carries the torch of the greats – Gladys Knight, Aretha Franklin, Patti Labelle – into the musical landscape of today.

“I’m so excited to be using live instruments and to be singing music that really paints a picture,” said Melinda.  “I knew my task was to just go in the studio and be me and the music would take care of the rest.”

“Melinda is a hugely talented vocalist and performer, and we are honored to be the home of her debut album,” commented Hi Fi Recordings Chairman/CEO John Hecker.  John Titta, President/COO of Hi Fi Recordings, also noted, “Melinda’s album is one of the most exciting that we’ve heard in years – a throwback to the classic soul albums of the 70’s with a modern twist that will undoubtedly capture the ear of today’s music fan.  We can’t wait for everyone to hear what she can do.”

Melinda’s undeniable talent has resulted in a timeless collection of 13 songs that will take listeners on a journey from the blues clubs of Louisiana to the churches of Mississippi, to the piano bars of New York City and back. From the first horn blasts of “Declaration of Love,” listeners will feel a driving pulse and unstoppable energy that is reminiscent of Tina Turner’s iconic hits, while “Coming Back to You” and “Wonderful” feature Melinda’s silky voice wrapped around the smooth, sleek sounds of classic R&B.  Melinda commands the emotional storytelling and funky delivery of the blues in “Dust My Broom” and “Walkin’ Blues”, and her impeccably artful and expressive voice has never been more on display than on the beautifully lush ballad “I’ll Never Stop Loving You” and the stripped down jazzy melody of “Wonder Why.”

A skilled and accomplished performer who perfected her craft as a backup singer for some of the biggest names in R&B, gospel and soul, including Michael McDonald, Aaron Neville, BeBe and CeCe Winans and Jonny Lang, Melinda became a household name as a finalist on the sixth season of American Idol.  She was immediately recognized as one of the most talented performers in the show’s history and won over millions of fans and critics alike with her powerhouse vocal performances, engaging personality and now-classic renditions of songs like “My Funny Valentine,” “I’m a Woman” and “Nutbush City Limits.”  The New York Times called her a “phenomenally gifted, stylistically adroit…Gladys Knight-Tina Turner hybrid…[who] brings a compelling honesty to every phrase she sings.”  Eventually finishing in third place, Melinda finally entered the studio in 2008 to record the debut album that the world was waiting for.
