Japanese Motors, the laid-back Orange County-based quartet and most recent addition to the Vice Music roster are releasing a new digital-only EP on March 3rd, available at all major digital retailers. Entitled Perception of Reality, the EP features new acoustic and live versions of 2 standout tracks from their self-titled LP and one previously unreleased song (”Bummin’ Out”). In addition to this offering of live recordings, Japanese Motors will bring their raucous live show across America late February through March as the main supporting act for Modest Mouse, leading up to their SXSW shows to be announced. Mötley Crüe announced today plans for their Saints of Los Angeles 2009 Winter Tour, hours before headlining a special one off performance at the historic Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles. The Live Nation produced, Saints of Los Angeles 2009 Tour, will feature special guests — Hinder, Theory of a Deadman and The Last Vegas.  The tour kicks off February 2nd in San Diego, CA with 29 shows throughout North America, including a date at Madison Square Garden, with the final performance on March 18th in Portland, ME.  Tickets go on sale beginning November 21st at www.livenation.com and www.motley.com. continue reading...

Recent Frenchkiss signees, Cut Off Your Hands, are proud to present the Happy As Can Be EP, their first offering for the New York-based label, due this October. Available for download below, the eponymous single will also be featured on their much anticipated, Bernard Butler produced debut album, You and I, set for release in early 2009. A carousel of layered melodies and rhyming couplets, soaring over an insistent, cavalry-like drumbeat, Happy follows the successful Expectations, Cut Off Your Hands’ lead single released in late September. Soulful singer/songwriter Eric Hutchinson is set to join Jack’s Mannequin on a string of tour dates this fall supporting his current release, Sounds Like This.  Hutchinson was recently named one of VH1’s “You Oughta Know” artists as well as an “Artist to Watch” by Clear Channel’s “NEW!” program and one of MSN’s “Ones To Watch” for the month of October.  Set your TiVos for The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on Monday night when Hutchinson will be performing his undeniably catchy single “Rock & Roll.”
