Lars seems to be mellowing with age… The old Lars would flip out and try to sue somebody immediately, but apparently Death Magnetic has leaked 8 whole days before the actual street release date, and he’s cool with it? Here’s what he has to say:
”Listen, we’re ten days from release,” he told US radio station Live 105.
“I mean, from here, we’re golden,” he added. “If this thing leaks all over the world today or tomorrow, happy days. Happy days. Trust me. Ten days out and it hasn’t quote-unquote fallen off the truck yet? Everybody’s happy. It’s 2008 and it’s part of how it is these days, so it’s fine. We’re happy.”

Metallica just released the second single off their upcoming album, Death Magnetic today. Entitled “My Apocalypse,” the track is now available for download on iTunes. Metallica fans should also check out iTunes where you can also purchase the track “The Day That Never Comes” which premiered last week.
Death Magnetic will be available everywhere on September 12th.
Here is the first look at new Metallica music. The album, Death Magnetic, is apparently through the mixing stage and the band “could not contain themselves any longer”. On first impression it sounds a lot more like old Metallica than we’ve seen in recent years, which is very promising. Can’t wait to hear the entire album, check out “Cyanide”:
