Be sure to check out WatchMojo’s 2-part series on Michael Jackson which might give you a little more insight into the King of Pop.  Here’s more on MJ and Madonna from NineMSN:

Michael Jackson and Madonna would have made a sweet couple in the 90s - that is, if Jacko was interested!

Taped coversations with Rabbi Shmuley Boteach are the basis for new book The Michael Jackson Tapes, where details about the late King Of Pop’s life are laid bare - including his diss of the veteran pop diva.

“I think she (Madonna) likes shock value and she knows how to push buttons on people,” Michael said in the 2001 conversation, where he spoke of the time he and Madonna went on several dates a decade earlier.

“I think she was sincerely in love with me and I was not in love with her. She did a lot of crazy things. I knew we had nothing in common.

“She is not sexy at all. I think sexy comes from the heart in the way you present yourself.”

MJ said Madonna was also jealous of his fame at the time. “They admire you and know you are wonderful and great because they are jealous, because they wish they were in your shoes.

“Madonna is one of them. She is jealous. She is a girl, a woman and I think that’s what bothers her… I get the fainting and adulation and she doesn’t.”

So who set MJ’s heart on fire, then? Elizabeth Taylor! He confessed he’d considered dating the Hollywood legend but was scared that the media would make fun of their 27-year age gap.

“I know that if we ever did anything romantically the press would be so mean and nasty and call us the Odd Couple,” he said. “It would turn into a circus and that’s the pain of it all.”

He said the late Princess Diana was his ideal woman: “I thought she was very special - very feminine and classy. She was my type for sure, and I don’t like most girls. There are very few I like who fit the mould. It takes a very special mould to make me happy and she was one of them.”

In the book, Michael is quoted detailing the brutal beatings he received from his father, as well as his fear of aging.

“I don’t want to grow old,” he said. “I never want to look in the mirror and see that.”

from Pollstar.com:

Madonna and filmmaker Guy Ritchie will end their marriage after nearly eight years, the couple said in a joint statement Wednesday.
The couple asked the media to “maintain respect for their family at this difficult time,” said the statement, e-mailed to The Associated Press by Liz Rosenberg, Madonna’s publicist.
A financial settlement has not been agreed by the wealthy couple, who must also decide child custody issues.
In London, Ritchie’s mother, Lady Amber Leighton, told reporters that the family wouldn’t be making any statement.
Madonna and Ritchie, director of “Snatch” and “Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels,” married in December 2000 at a Scottish castle. The couple have two children: Rocco, 8, and David Banda, 3, who was adopted from Malawi in 2006. Madonna also has a 12-year-old daughter, Lourdes, from her relationship with personal trainer Carlos Leon.
The couple are reportedly worth some $525 million, the bulk of that belonging to Madonna. Ritchie has an estimated $35 million fortune. They own homes in London, Los Angeles and New York, and a 1,200-acre retreat in Wiltshire, England.
Madonna is to perform concerts Wednesday and Thursday in Boston as her “Sticky and Sweet” tour continues. Ritchie’s latest movie, “RocknRolla,” recently opened to mixed reviews.
Lawyers said the couple would likely try to come to an agreement before heading to court.
“The judgment of the court would be to try and assess what they came in with and divide what they built up fairly equally,” said David Allison, a lawyer with Family Law in Partnership, a London firm.
Ritchie’s career has faltered during the marriage, while Madonna’s songs, videos and concerts remain popular worldwide.
The needs of the couple’s children will also be factored by the court, as they were in Britain’s latest high-profile celebrity divorce, the battle between former Beatle Paul McCartney and model Heather Mills. In that case, McCartney and Mills fought over money and custody of their young daughter.
Mills received 24.3 million pounds in the divorce after four years of marriage.
“The needs of children figure quite highly, and that was one of the reasons Heather Mills got a gigantic amount of money, despite the fact that the bulk of Sir Paul’s money was made before the marriage,” Allison said.
The Sun newspaper splashed the split across its front page Wednesday under the headline: “We’re Divorcing.” It was the second time this year that the superstar couple’s marriage has come under the media microscope. Over the summer, Madonna was linked — unfairly, she said — to the breakup of New York Yankee Alex Rodriguez and his ex-wife Cynthia.
Madonna was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame last year.

‘HARD CANDY’ DELICIOUS NEW MADONNA ALBUM SCHEDULED TO BE RELEASED ON WARNER BROS. RECORDS APRIL 29th

Madonna’s 11th studio album for Warner Bros. Records “HARD CANDY” is scheduled to have a global release on April 28th and a US release on April 29th, it was confirmed by her label. “HARD CANDY” (the follow up to Madonna’s “CONFESSIONS ON A DANCE FLOOR” which debuted at No. 1 in 30 countries and sold over 8 million copies), has been described as a brilliant up-tempo collection of 12 songs in which Madonna remains ensconced in club mode but this time adds an urban hip hop beat in collaboration with musical partners Timbaland, Justin Timberlake, Pharrell Williams of the Neptunes and Nate “Danja” Hills. The debut single, the pulsating “4 Minutes” will be released at the end of March.

“The title is a juxtaposition of tough and sweetness…kind of like I’m gonna kick your ass but it’s going to make you feel good. And of course, I love candy” laughed the material girl.

Madonna, a multi-Grammy-award-winning singer, songwriter, producer, cultural icon, world renowned stage performer, video visionary, children’s book author, director and documentary film maker has sold 200 million albums in the course of her unprecedented two decade plus career and is slated to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on March 10th.

Here’s a pretty good list made by Spinner.com. Although pretty much every Christmas song made by a mainstream musician has been pretty lame…
