AGE OF DAZE - “AFFLICTED” Streaming Audio

AGE OF DAZE - “AFFLICTED” Music Video:
Hollywood Ending, is made up of eight skillfully-crafted, unadulterated rock songs, ranging the gamut from passionate ballad to kickass guitar anthem. And yes, the results are in… 10 out of 10 blind listening sessions have concluded …there’s no @!* way this band is staying indie… In fact, they don’t sound indie at all!!

For those of you who haven’t heard the band (and have no fear, you will soon), AOD is 100% rock - pure and simple. Kinda like orange juice - with all the pulp but none of the acid! With 3 pounding guitars, 1 killer bass and a drum kit that gets the shit kicked out if it every time it’s played, this band has a sound that draws you in, rocks your soul, then locks you into an addiction you’ll never get rid of…not that you’d want to! The success of Afflicted , the band’s first single to be released on traditional radio in Canada and on Sirius satellite radio in the US, has been nothing short of mind-blowing when you consider the band hasn’t put anything out there but the song…meaning no gigantic publicity machine, no dipping into limitless pools of corporate marketing cash, no grueling cross-country tour … All hail to the Internet – the true litmus test of what’s hot and what’s not…and AFFLICTED is definitely smokin’ according to AOD’s MySpace fans!

For those of you in.the.know, it shouldn’t be surprising that Age of Daze have made themselves quite at home on Sirius Octane’s Top 20 Rock Charts, dueling with the likes of 3 Doors Down, Puddle of Mudd, Seether and Chevelle for most played and most requested song with incredible ease – like they were born to be there (and quite frankly, we think they were). Again, not an insignificant accomplishment for an indie band from somewhere.up.there.north.of.the.border. Even band members agree they’re not the type of band you’d expect from “out east.” But hey, when you aim high, you usually win big. And win big they have - garnering a loyal family of rock fans that span the far corners of the globe - from New Zealand to Italy, from Portland to England, and almost every damn state in the mighty US of A!

On this side of the 49th P, Afflicted is blazing up the Media Base Top 20 Rock Charts, getting airplay and support from coast 2 coast. With gigs this year during the ECMAs and CMW, their ability to win over any crowd has been nothing short of phenomenal. It’s no wonder the band is having such a hard time keeping the album stocked - the requests just keep getting louder and louder!

But the one thing that really makes your head spin about this album is the talent behind it, and the focus of the band members. With dig deep, passionate vocals, the power of three rockin’ guitars, heavy bass and the craziest @%! drummer relentlessly thrashing his skins (not to mention the sweat flying around on stage) - they’re the real deal. They’re stoked and they’re in it to win it. Says lead vocalist Tim Morrison, “you gotta go big or go home” – full stop.

From the sound of things… they ain’t goin’ home anytime soon!

TRACKLISTING - Hollywood Ending:
1. Afflicted
2. Change Everything
3. Believe
4. Overrated
5. In The Moment
6. Thought You Should Know
7. Cure For You
8. BONUS TRACK (Believe Acoustic)

Lenny Kravitz has just unveiled the video for “Dancin’ Til Dawn,” the third single off his 8th studio album, It Is Time For a Love Revolution. The video was shot and directed by seminal French photographer Jean-Baptiste Mondino who has helmed videos for Madonna, David Bowie, Sting, Bjork and more. The single, “Dancin’ Til Dawn” comes across as the materialization of a career that has spanned almost two decades of classic rock, old-school soul and gritty funk sculpted into a contemporary rock smash.

The fourteen tracks that complete It Is Time For A Love Revolution were written, recorded and produced by Lenny Kravitz himself. The album is available in stores and at digital retailers now.

Mötley Crüe announced today plans for their Saints of Los Angeles 2009 Winter Tour, hours before headlining a special one off performance at the historic Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles. The Live Nation produced, Saints of Los Angeles 2009 Tour, will feature special guests — Hinder, Theory of a Deadman and The Last Vegas.  The tour kicks off February 2nd in San Diego, CA with 29 shows throughout North America, including a date at Madison Square Garden, with the final performance on March 18th in Portland, ME.  Tickets go on sale beginning November 21st at www.livenation.com and www.motley.com.

American Express Card members will have access to presale tickets beginning Friday, November 14 at 5pm local time through Thursday, November 20 at 10pm local time via www.motley.com.

“It’s great to go back out on a tour like this where the bands are all about returning rock to the forefront of music today,” says Vince Neil of Mötley Crüe.  “On top of it, we get to introduce a new band who jumped the line to arenas through the Guitar Center: On Stage contest.  Just like Ozzy gave us a chance and took us on tour at the start of our career, we’re looking forward to taking The Last Vegas on the road and giving them the same opportunity.”

Hinder front man Austin Winkler said, “Mötley Crüe is a massive influence on us, and an inspiration on so many levels for what we do!  Mick even played on the title track for our new album.  It will be an honor and privilege for us to tour with one of the greatest rock bands ever!  And we can’t wait to party our asses off with them!”

“We are so pumped to be a part of what I think will be the biggest and most bad ass tour of 2009.  Three kick ass bands on one bill, not to mention how honored we are to play with one of the best rock n roll bands of all f#@%kn time, Mötley f#@%kn Crüe,” said Tyler Connolly of Theory of a Deadman.

Rock icons Mötley Crüe recently returned to the charts with Saints of Los Angeles, their first new studio album with the original line-up — Nikki Sixx, Mick Mars, Tommy Lee and Vince Neil — in over a decade and the ninth studio album in their career.  Based on the band’s New York Times bestseller The Dirt, the disc debuted at #1 on the Independent Album chart and was the top debut of the week on the Billboard’s top 200 at #4.

The All-American Rejects have just premiered the video for explosive single “Gives You Hell” on Yahoo! Music. Directed by Marc Webb (Maroon 5, Fergie), the video was described by the band as a neighborly quarrel between two completely opposite households, the square versus the raucous rockers, both of which have front-man Tyson Ritter as the head of the house. The trials and tribulations between the Rockers and the Preps unfold as the video progresses with an unexpected ending. Check it out:

Sweet 17 - Laura Warshauer

About Laura:

Pop singer-songwriter Laura Warshauer is a storyteller first and foremost. Through her music, she examines loss, love and life. The 24-year-old New Jersey native crafts sonic gems, through combining massive pop melodies and flourishes of folk. Her lyrical sensibility hearkens back to songsmiths like Joni Mitchell and Fiona Apple, while the music possesses a pop rock passion a la U2. Laura wants to take listeners on a journey, and her music’s the perfect vessel. “Convince Myself,” “December Night” and the first single, “Sweet 17,” are entrancing, soothing and infectious. She’s paved her own path, and the ride has just begun.

Laura will release her self-titled seven-song debut album on September 23 via Island/Pink Chariot/Fontana. The music is like an aural embrace, pulling listeners in and holding them tightly. “Please Don’t Lie” features orchestral textures that perfectly compliment her warm, ethereal vocals. She describes her sound best, “There’s definitely a folk sensibility, but it’s really about grand melodies. I have a very classic pop structure in terms of my writing style, but lyrically, I offer a unique angle.” That angle sees Laura exploring experiences intimately and in a relatable manner. Songs come naturally to Laura, and she lets inspiration take hold. “I say everything I need to in my songs. It’s my job to stay out of the way and let the songs do the talking.”

The songs spoke loud and clear, and Laura’s immense talent caught the ear of Island Def Jam Chairman Antonio “L.A.” Reid. He received one of her demos, and he had to go see her play.  “He came to a Sunday night rehearsal, and his hands were in the air when he heard me. Afterwards he was speechless. The next day he asked me what I envisioned for myself. I looked him right in the eye and said, ‘I want to rock stadiums, and I want to be doing it in 25 years.’ He replied, ‘I want to do it with you.’” Their partnership has set the stage for Laura’s album this fall and her full-length, Such A Lovely Place, due out in 2009. There’s no doubt she’s on to big things.

The songs say it all. “Sweet 17″ is a dreamy anthem of unrequited love. Laura reminisces about her high school years while exploring the relationship she could’ve had with a romantic interest. “I wanted to capture that nostalgic feeling of being 17. At the end of the day, it’s a song about love: finding it, losing it, wondering if it exists or if it’s only in your head. I bring a fantasy that I longed for to life. This wasn’t necessarily the reality of my own life, but the song asks, ‘What if it could’ve been?’” “Sweet 17″ highlights Laura’s unique voice and her knack for a big hook. “My Fault” further showcases her diversity. The heartfelt ballad explores abusive relationships intimately. “That song is especially poignant for me. I would love to be involved in organizations that speak out against domestic violence.  People can relate to this song if they’ve ever been in a relationship where they’ve lost themselves. ‘My Fault’ captures what it feels like to be in an abusive situation.”

Laura’s created a compelling live show through numerous club concerts and festival dates. Her performances all at once encapsulate her strength and vulnerability. In addition to traditional gigs, she’s been involved with Musicians On Call since she was 16. Musicians On Call began in the pediatric cancer ward at Memorial Sloan-Kettering, and the group allows artists to play bedside for patients. About these special performances, Laura comments, “You have three minutes to make a difference. You’re either going to, or you’re not. You can feel the results immediately.  You want to take that person somewhere else.”

In addition to an escape, Laura wants to give audiences something they can truly connect to. “People respond when you’re honest in your art. I love it when people get a sense of something real, organic and human from my music. I want to make my music mean something, and I want them to feel an emotional connection. I also want to bring them on some sort of ride.” It’s going to be the ride of a lifetime, and Laura’s driving.
