Dr. Dog will release a collection of rare tracks on March 4th via Park the Van Records. Initially released as unmastered streaming audio on the band’s website, www.weallbelong.net, the ten re-mastered tracks on Passed Away are a lo-fi assortment of 4-track recordings made over the past five years leading up to and surrounding their 2007 breakout album We All Belong. Passed Away is just Dr. Dog recording songs because that’s what they do, not for anyone but kind of for everyone at the same time.
We All Belong effectively launched Dr. Dog into the realm of critically acclaimed indie bands, earning them praise from Rollingstone Magazine (which placed them at the #39 spot in its Top 50 Albums of the Year), Entertainment Weekly, GQ Magazine, NPR’s World Café, and more. Since then, the band has spent the year on the road with the likes of Wilco and Dinosaur Jr. and headlined their own tour with labelmates The Teeth and The High Strung. iTunes users will receive a live video of We All Belong’s “Die, Die, Die” filmed during this time with purchase of Passed Away.
And while the material on Passed Away is a glance at Dr. Dog’s past, the band is currently hard at work on a new studio album to be released later this year. In the meantime, they’re also hitting the road for select tour dates in February and March.

Continuing its pledge to serving others, Hard Rock is proud to announce the launch of SERVE2 – a benefit compilation, digitally available exclusively at iTunes, featuring previously unreleased tracks from some of music’s most influential artists, including Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, Jackson Browne, Joss Stone, KT Tunstall and more – to benefit WHY (World Hunger Year), a nonprofit organization that strives to fight against hunger and poverty in America and around the world. All net proceeds from SERVE2 will be donated directly towards Artists Against Hunger & Poverty (AAHP), a special artist-directed program of WHY – for which, Hard Rock has proudly raised more than $1 million to date.
Joining Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan and others in the fight against hunger and poverty, SERVE2 features never-before-released tracks by a unique blend of major multi-platinum, Grammy Award-winning and acclaimed recording artists like The Hold Steady, Mat Kearney, Brandi Carlile and more. The songs are new, classic, electric or acoustic, and reflect the generosity of the artists that donated them to the project on behalf of serving those in need.
