I’m all for musical experimentation and collaboration, but Chris Cornell paired up with Timbaland never seemed like a good idea. This acoustic rendition of the single “Scream” only reaffirms that. This is just Chris with an acoustic guitar accompanying his voice. No programmed beats, no digital effects. Just the music. And what a difference that makes!

As mentioned the album Scream was produced by Timbaland and he has continued to play with the sound of the songs of this record including 10 remixes for his track “Part of Me,” acoustic versions, and the upcoming single will be a non-album version.

Go behind the scenes with rocker Chris Cornell on the set of his new video for “Scream.” Watch Chris discuss the concept behind the video and the unique, dreamlike quality that director Alan Ferguson (Fall Out Boy, Jay-Z) helps create. “Scream” is the title track off of the forthcoming album produced by Timbaland due out this year.
Chris Cornell has just premiered the video for “Scream,” the title track off of his Timbaland produced album due out next year. Directed by Alan Ferguson (Fall Out Boy, Gym Class Heroes), the cinematic piece captures the two opposing moods of the song. “My role in the video is performing the song in super-slow-motion,” explains Cornell. “I’m existing in this Zen-like world, singing these song lyrics and everything going on around me is super-fast, super-chaotic, and I’m just suspended in it.”
Chris Cornell has just unveiled the official video for “Ground Zero” which includes scenes from the ABC crime-drama Life On Mars. The series also prominently featured the song in their October premiere episode and ad campaign. The track comes off Cornell’s upcoming Timbaland produced effort, Scream, which will hit stores early next year.
Cornell has also been blogging on his official site as of late. So far, the entries have dealt with everything from a dream he had about Layne Staley to his touring preparation and set list choices. Check out all of the blog posts at www.chriscornell.com/blog/ to get a rare glimpse into the mind of the rock icon.
Throughout his storied career, Chris Cornell has clearly never been an artist that is content sitting in one creative comfort spot for too long. The versatile rocker who became a household name from his success in Soundgarden and Audioslave has teamed up with perhaps the most celebrated producer of this era: Timbaland. Scream is the result of their genre-defying sessions.
Cornell and Timbaland are set to kick off a string of eight live shows on October 17th to support the project. Scream will be performed in its entirety to mimic the experience of listening to the LP from start to finish.
The new album features infectious tracks like “Ground Zero,” “Part of Me,” and the exhilarating title track and lead single, “Scream.” Fans can expect a unique blend of hip-hop and rock from this release that will no doubt venture into new territory for both Cornell and Timbaland.

Bio:
Chris Cornell is a rock icon who thrives on contradictions. An innovator who resists genre labels, he was nonetheless the chief architect of the 90s grunge movement. Frequently ranked as one of the best voices in music history, he has successfully maintained his own unique identity over more than two decades as a multi-Grammy award winning musician and universally acclaimed singer, songwriter and lyricist.
Seattle trailblazers Soundgarden were a law to themselves, edgy, dark and deeply individual. Their savage soundscapes, coupled with Cornell’s incisive lyrics and predatory roar, seduced audiences hungry for musical depth and complexity while leading trends in street fashion and iconic design. In 1989, they became the first Seattle band to sign to a major label. Their sound continued to change and evolve over the course of five pioneering albums.
Celebrated side project Temple of the Dog had already shown Cornell’s more soulful side and introduced future Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder to the world. Later, Cornell shocked the business once again with richly melodic, critically acclaimed solo album “Euphoria Morning”, swiftly recognized for its alienation and despair. And as the millennium turned, he joined with three other musical pioneers from rap-rock’s Rage Against The Machine to create Audioslave - a multi-platinum supergroup which lived to deny its detractors, producing three top-selling albums, touring the world and becoming the first American band to bring rock to Castro’s Cuba.
Since then, Cornell has redefined his sound and vision to encompass new music, new collaborations and new activities. Having contributed solo songs to movie soundtracks from “Great Expectations” to “Mission Impossible II”, he became the first American male singer to write the theme song for the James Bond franchise in its most successful film to date, “Casino Royale.” His bold and bluesy reinvention of Michael Jackson dance classic “Billie Jean” courted controversy and attracted imitators. And his triumphant 2007 world tour brought together songs from every stage of his career, reinterpreting them for new audiences and blending their original fire with the shock of the new.
Outside music, Cornell fronted fashion designer John Varvatos’s Spring 2006 collection and settled in Paris with his family, where he has helped revive a historic restaurant, the stylish Black Calavados.
Only the most confident would claim to predict exactly what comes next for Chris Cornell. Always eclectic, always experimental, his new collaboration with super-producer Timbaland – who calls their album “the best work I’ve done in my career” – will take him into fresh territory, establishing a new sound and marking the creation of a masterpiece that breaks all musical boundaries. Only one thing’s for sure – Chris Cornell will continue to break rules, make history and challenge everyone’s expectations.
The band’s name is Tokio Hotel and apparently they’ve sold over 6 million records around the world, but have yet to break into the American market. They’re set to give it a shot with their first english sung record Scream. But hold on… before we go any further I have to make it clear that the lead singer(3rd from left) is in fact a Male, and not Female. You won’t believe me, but its true.

BIO:
International superstars Tokio Hotel are taking the music world by storm. After scoring four number one singles, two number one albums, and selling nearly 3 million CDs and DVDs in their homeland, they’ve become the biggest act to come out of Germany in 20 years. And to think their first CD was recorded when the members were only 13 to 15-years-old. Breaking down cultural walls, the Tokio Hotel phenomenon has crossed language barriers, causing a tornado-like frenzy in Spain, Italy, Scandinavia, Russia and Israel. In Austria and Switzerland, Tokio Hotel have gone four times Platinum and in France, they’ve had a crowd of 500,000 chanting along to their songs in front of the Eiffel Tower. One by one, European territories have seen the band graduating from theaters to arenas in a matter of months. . They sold out 43 venues with more than 400,000 fans in their home country.
Teenage girls overseas cry at the mere glimpse of Bill Kaulitz, 18 (vocals), Bill’s twin brother Tom Kaulitz, 18 (guitar), Gustav Schäfer, 19, (drums) and Georg Listing, 20 (bass). Now with Tokio Hotel ready to rock America, it’s only a matter of time before the hysteria follows them stateside.
“It’s always been a dream of ours to make it in the States,” says vocalist Bill Kaulitz, who sings in English for the first time on Scream, the band’s U.S. debut. “We grew up listening to American bands like Metallica, Green Day and The Red Hot Chili Peppers. We wanted to get a chance to do what they do.”
When the band formed in Magdeburg, Germany, in 2001 (originally under the name Devilish), they say they had no idea they’d go on to win prestigious awards such as Echo and Viva Comet. “But there was never a plan B,” explains Bill, “music is all we know.”
Guitarist Tom added ”Playing live means everything to us. That’s how we started three years ago…performing our songs in small clubs and bars - sometimes with only five people in the audience. These days have changed completely. We have sold out stadiums and the biggest venues you can get. This unbelievable success is hard to grasp and every single day we are grateful for it.”
With their US debut ready for release, listeners will get a chance to hear how Tokio Hotel’s melodic brand of rock easily navigates between headbanging guitars and power-packed anthems to mid-tempo pop tracks, and softer, more introspective ballads. The one thing their diverse songs all have in common? There’s always a message.
“Don’t Jump” is an anti-suicide song, telling the listener not to give up on himself, while the guitar-heavy album-opener, “Scream,” is about “saying what you want—or better yet, shouting it—to get your point across,” explains Bill. The quiet but powerful “Rescue Me” is about the helplessness you feel when a relationship crumbles before your eyes, while the sweetly, slowed-down “Monsoon” is about being so in love that you’re willing to do anything to win over—and keep—the love of your life.
“The lyrics are very important to us,” says Bill. “They help our fans know where we’re coming from. The best part of being a musician is being onstage and seeing a sea of people sing the words you wrote—it’s a rush.” Now, for the first time, they’ll be able to hear their lyrics sung back to them in English. “It’s going to be a little crazy,” Bill admits. Though the group learned to speak English in school, they still write songs in their native German and then translate them into English.
Their first U.S. album is actually a combination of hits from their two German albums—”Schrei (Scream),” and “Zimmer 483 (Room 483),” - translated into English and re-recorded. Their first single in Germany, “Durch den Monsun” (”Through the Monsoon”), went to number one in August 2005, followed by “Schrei (Scream)”, which climbed to number five on the charts, and “Rette Mich (Rescue Me)”, which also peaked at number one.
Their first single off their second album “Zimmer 483 (Room 483),” called “Übers Ende der Welt (Ready Set Go),” was released in January 2007, and quickly reached number one as well. They can only hope to keep the streak alive in America.
“We think our music speaks for itself,” says Bill. “Of course, we want to succeed, but we don’t have anything to prove to anyone but ourselves.
