Beatles… Stones… children with butterfly wings. It all works out in this cool new tune from Metric:
In advance of Fist of God, the follow-up to 2006’s landmark The Looks, Toronto dancefloor juggernaut MSTRKRFT is set to release a Maxi Single of club-banging blog fave, and F’N MTV theme song, “Bounce.” The eight-track offering, due via Dim Mak Records on October 7th, features the original N.O.R.E. and Isis of Thunderheist-assisted track, released in April, “Vuvuvu,” and a plethora of remixes from rising stars in the dance community. For the uninitiated, MSTRKRFT is the production/DJ team of Toronto musician Jesse F. Keller and studio wizard Al-P. Their 2006 smash The Looks blurred boundaries between punk, house, hip-hop, grime, electro, and all kinds of electronic experimentation. Since forming, the team of Keller and Al-P have remixed a veritable who’s who of musical trendsetters – John Legend and Andre 3000, The Gossip, Justice, Usher, Wolfmother, The Crystal Method, Chromeo, Armand Van Helden, Kylie Minogue, Annie, Bloc Party, and Metric. The Bounce maxi single finds a few of MSTRKRFT’s friends returning the favor, with “Bounce” remixes from the likes of French up-and-comers High Powered Boys, MK labelmates Bloody Beetroots, and Vancouver-based rising star Felix Cartal, whose contribution to the release was premiered this morning on RCRDLBL and can be downloaded below.

This is pretty crazy footage of Noel getting hit from behind during the Oasis performance at the V Festival in Toronto, Canada. Its too bad Noel didn’t even have a chance to react, otherwise I’m sure an epic brawl would have ensued. Notice Liam with his arm cocked trying to get some shots in. Props to the band for coming back 15 minutes later and finishing the show. Fast forward to 1:25 for the action to begin:
more on the attack from The National Post:
A man ran onstage during Oasis’s show at Virgin Festival in Toronto last night and crashed into guitarist Noel Gallagher, knocking him hard to the ground.
The man, who entered from backstage as the band played (What’s The Story) Morning Glory, then appeared to clash with other Gallagher brother, Liam, before security rushed in and escorted him off stage in front of the shocked festival crowd.
The security spokesperson for Virgin, called Nathan, said unidentified man evaded both Virgin and Oasis security personnel in his dash onstage. No reason was given for the rush, but Nathan pointed out that both brothers were fine, and Noel was joking backstage after the incident about how exciting things always happens when Oasis plays.
After a 15 minute pause, the band returned to the stage and finished the show, which included crowd-pleasers such as Don’t Look Back in Anger, Wonderwall, new single The Shock Of The Lightning and the closer, a cover of The Beatles’ I Am The Walrus.
Great Bloomers are a young band out of Toronto, Canada with barely an EP to their name, but lately I’ve been absolutely obsessed with this song. Citing influences ranging from the Beach Boys to Black Flag their music is an creative blend of folky/rootsy rock and the song “Catching Up” is a knockout starting off with harmonized vocals and moving into a full on rollicking guitar based tune with call and response vocals and guitar lines. I can’t get enough of it and can find something new and interesting within the song each time I listen. I’m very excited to hear more from these guys.
