Just a few snippets of the song called “Man of Misery”, but it sounds pretty good. Not sure about Liam’s clothing line yet though…
Brooklyn psychedelic-funk combo, Chin Chin, leaked a new single called “GG and the Boys” yesterday, offering the first glimpse of an upcoming album to be released on Definitive Jux records early next year. OkayPlayer described the track as “The Love Boat meets “Computer Love,” with a flavoring of 70s inspired soul and funk.”
With a description like that, it’s no wonder this group has opened for an eclectic group of artists including Lilly Allen, Sufjan Stevens, DJ Spinna, and Antibalas Afrobeat.

September 19, 2008 (ENGLEWOOD, NJ) Ring the alarm. The Vault is being opened. It holds 12 never-before-released recordings from Grammy Award-winning, platinum-selling R&B songstress Ashanti. The Vault will be released October 14th by AJM Records.
The Vault contains vocal recordings penned by Ashanti in 2001 while signed exclusively to AJM Records. This composite of work was completed before AJM’s joint venture with Murder Inc/Def Jam in 2002.
Top notch producers added the finishing touches to The Vault, including 15-year-old producing wunderkind Miguel “Migs” Baeza. Migs produced the first single set to drop from The Vault, “Let’s Do Something Crazy”.

For the cut, Migs brought in hip-hop superstar Flo-Rida to drop a few rhymes, making “Let’s Do Something Crazy” a sure hit. “Although the track is not like any other Ashanti song heard before, I tried to please her already established fan base by maintaining the classic Ashanti style while at the same time indulging a new audience with an upbeat, exciting feel on this upcoming single”, says Migs. Migs also worked his magic on the irresistible “Satisfy”, another track from The Vault.
Other producers on the album include Kidd Kold AJM’s in-house producer who is responsible for the 2nd single “Imagine”. Kidd has produced 8 tracks on The Vault and has worked with DMX and Foxy Brown. Additional producers include Nocko, Steven White and Kenny Flav. Nocko is no stranger to hit makers. He has worked with countless top artists like Mary J. Blige, T.I., Trina, LilMo, Monica, Teddy Riley, Ludacris, Nelly, and Rick Ross. This dream team of producers has turned The Vault into a must have treasure.
Get ready to discover the treasure of Ashanti: The Vault. Its musical gems are priceless recordings.
Nina Simone is widely regarded as one of the most important jazz and blues revolutionaries of all time. Not only was she a Grammy Award-nominated American singer, songwriter, pianist, and arranger, but she was also a staunch civil rights activist and voice for black America. On April 8th, a new collection of never before seen video and live tracks dubbed Protest Anthology will offer fans a look at the “High Priestess of Soul” as she really was both on and off stage.
Protest Anthology collects eight previously unreleased video interviews and 11 unheard live tracks of hit songs “Mississippi Goddamn,” “Backlash Blues,” “To Be Young, Gifted, and Black,” and more in one package. These very rare interviews and recordings are finally being unearthed, under exclusive license from her ex-husband Andy Stroud. The first volume of a five-release series, these tracks contain some of Nina Simone’s most political statements ever captured, and truly sum up her strong viewpoints on being black in America during the 1960s, viewpoints that surely would have been controversial in her time.
In her lifetime, Nina Simone recorded over 40 live and studio albums, spanning the genres of jazz, soul, folk, R&B, gospel, and pop music, and setting the stage for future generations of artists including Mary J. Blige, Alicia Keys, Lauryn Hill, and many more.
