From The Canadian News:

The CBC has admitted it inadvertently displayed the jacket of an anti-Sarah Palin book during a story about the former vice-presidential candidate that aired on “The National.”

The gaffe came Monday night during a piece on Palin’s hotly anticipated new memoir “Going Rogue: An American Life.”

A CBC spokesman confirmed that the network mistakenly put up a graphic depicting the cover of “Going Rouge: Sarah Palin An American Nightmare.”

The cover of the latter book, compiled by Richard Kim and Betsy Reed, senior editors at the left-leaning The Nation magazine, bears a striking resemblance to Palin’s.

Both books are hitting store shelves today.

CBC spokesman Jeff Keay says the mistake was fixed in a subsequent broadcast.

Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman, who authorities say heads the powerful Sinaloa Cartel, is believed to have shipped $6 billion to $19 billion in cocaine to the United States over the past eight years, Forbes says in the listing.

The magazine ranks him No. 41, ahead of Russian President Dmitry Medvedev (No. 43), Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu (46), French President Nicolas Sarkozy (56) and Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez (67). Guzman also bested U.S. Chief Justice John Roberts (49) and entertainer Oprah Winfrey (45) on the list, released Wednesday.

Forbes notes that Guzman’s fortune was self-made. His age is given as 52 or 54.

The Sinaloa Cartel, named after the Mexican Pacific Coast state where the gang was formed, is one of the most powerful drug-trafficking groups in the nation.

This takes the cake when it comes to calling in sick!

Blockbuster employee Aaron Siebers stabbed himself rather than go to work at a Sheridan Boulevard Blockbuster. Siebers could be facing false-reporting charges since he called in and claimed that “he’d been stabbed in Edgewater by “three skinheads or Hispanic males dressed in black” who tried to rob him. “Trouble is, a surveillance video from a business where this alleged attack supposedly took place didn’t show anything like what Siebers described…so he had to come clean.

This ridiculousness is not going to encourage more people to donate a kidney!

One of the biggest double standards that still exists today is virginity. Women are expected to keep theirs and men are expected to lose it.

China has been creating this artificial hymen (pictured above) for quite some time, but it was its advertising in the Middle East that caused an uproar.

The “hymen”: a 5×7cm folded piece of plastic – of albumin, – covered on one side by dark red ink. Placed in the vagina before sex, the plastic hardens slightly, and rips upon intercourse. A few drops of “blood” will stain the sheets, preserving the woman’s, her family’s, or society’s “honour”.

According to River Front Times:

Today a former Anheuser-Busch executive filed a lawsuit claiming her former employer discriminated against her based upon her gender.

The suit filed by Francine Katz claims Anheuser-Busch (now AB-InBev) has a “locker room and frat party atmosphere” that works against female employees.

Whoa! Stop the presses! You’re saying that a company that came up with an ad like this one (suggesting an act they refer to as “sodomy” down in Texas) is overtly sexist?
