PepsiCo apologized on their twitter page for their App that provides advice for me to pick up ladies.
According to MSN Money:
“From the “Rebound Girl” to “Married” and “Cougar,” the app gives a profile for that type of woman, including a cartoon picture and details about her likely interests, so guys “know what makes her tick before you open your mouth, so she’ll like what she hears when you do,” according to the iTunes description.”
The advice from Pepsi was created to promote their new AMP Energy Drink. “Amp up before you score” was the slogan they used.
The app has yet to be removed.

In an infamous moment at the Values Voter Summit over the weekend, captured on video by Dave Weigel, Sen. Tom Coburn’s (R-OK) chief of staff Michael Schwartz made the case against pornography. “All pornography is homosexual pornography,” said Schwartz, quoting an ex-gay friend of his, “because all pornography turns your sexual drive inwards.”
Schwartz then explained the side benefit of this finding — that if boys know pornography will make them gay, they’ll never touch it, taking advantage of what Schwartz sees as a natural homophobia. “And if you tell an 11-year-old boy about that, do you think he’s going to want to get a copy of Playboy?” he said. “I’m pretty sure he’ll lose interest. That’s the last thing he wants!”
With the unemployment rates growing, it’s more competitive than ever to land a job.
When you land an interview it’s more important than ever to do all you can to secure your future position in the company.
Here are some tips from Chatelaine.com
The seven second rule
That’s the amount of time it takes most people to make up their minds about you. First impressions count, so make sure you are ready to make your best possible entrance. Stand up straight, smile, make eye contact and give a firm handshake to the person interviewing you – your body language will tell them you’re eager, energetic and able to do the job.
Dress properly
First impressions are also about what you’re wearing – you might think those hot pink pants are great but I guarantee you, most employers will not. If you don’t know what the dress code is at a prospective employer than default to a suit, particularly if it’s in a corporate environment. If the workplace is more casual (a retail store, library, etc) then opt for a neat and simple pair of pants or a skirt and a nice blouse. Make sure you pay attention to details like your fingernails, hair, skin and makeup – keep it all neat and simple.
Listen up – and stick to the point
When you’re asked a question, keep your responses on message – that means answering the question as concisely as possible without a lot of superfluous detail like how your experiences in grade eight band shaped the person you’ve become today. And make sure you listen carefully – don’t interrupt and listen for cues and clues about the job and what they’re looking for.
Show you’re interested in the company
You’ve come prepared to answer questions – but you should also have some of your own to ask the interviewer. This will show you are interested in the organization and the job on offer. Questions can be more specific about the interviewer (i.e., how long have you been with the company?) or more general questions about the firm and what it’s like to work there (what is a typical day like at the company? What is the management style and what are the values that drive how it does business?).
Research
Go online and read any articles or recent material about the company – has it been in the headlines? Has it been rated by industry publications? This will help show you’re interested. And if you’re not afraid to do a little cyber-stalking, Google the person who’s interviewing you – doing this doesn’t mean asking them personal stuff from their Facebook page, though (that’s creepy). Check and see if they’ve been quoted in publications or have received any special awards.
Speak up
Yes, listening and not diving into your life story is important – but if your interviewer doesn’t ask you about a key skill or attribute you have that is crucial to getting the job done then make sure you pipe up. Don’t wait to be asked about the industry award you won or the degree you are working on to advance your skills in the field you’re applying to. Just work it into the conversation and let accomplishments shine.

“According to a new survey, Hulu, the online video TV channel, just beat the viewing statistics of Time Warner Cable for July. Does that mean Hulu’s now the second most important TV “channel” in the U.S.? Nearly…but not quite.
The data comes from Silicon Alley Insider, and partly from Comscore, and it’s pretty clear actually, as the graph below ably demonstrates. Hulu was watched at least once by 38 million people in July, whereas Time Warner Cable was viewed by some 34 million souls. Hulu was only beaten by satellite broadcaster DirecTV’s 47 million viewers and Comcast’s 62 million, when you look at the raw viewer statistics.”

“U.S. software giant Microsoft said Wednesday it’s sorry for superimposing the head of a white man on a black man in a photo on its Polish Web site.
“We apologize and are in the process of pulling down the image,” The Times of London reported the company said in an official statement. “We are looking into the details of this situation.”
The picture in question involved a stock image of three businesspeople, one white, one black and one Asian, which could be seen in its original form on Microsoft’s U.S. Web site. But on the company’s Polish site, the same photo showed the head of a white man superimposed on the black man’s body, CNET.com reported.
“In this day and age, this is shocking,” CNET reported Twitter user Barry McCauley as writing. “Unacceptable.”
The Times said Microsoft officials wrote on their official Twitter feed, “Marketing site photo mistake — sincere apologies — we are in the process of taking down the image.”

This is scary:
Warren Buffet a highly influential American has finally hit the panic button, saying that we are going to be crushed under a mountain of debt taking into consideration the amount of debt the country is piling up.
Last year, Warren Buffett says, we were justified in using any means necessary to stave off another Great Depression. Now that the economy is beginning to recover, however, we need to curtail our out-of-control spending, or we’ll destroy the value of the dollar and many Americans’ life savings.
Here are some not-so-fun facts from Buffett’s editorial today in the New York Times:
* Congress is now spending 185% of what it takes in
* Our deficit is a post WWII record of 13% of GDP
* Our debt is growing by 1% a month
* We are borrowing $1.8 trillion a year
$1.8 trillion, that’s a lot of money. Even if the Chinese lend us $400 billion a year and Americans save a remarkable $500 billion and lend it to the government, we’ll still need another $900 billion.
Which brings us to the million Dollar question “where’s it going to come from?” Most likely the printing press. And, ultimately, that will destroy the value of the dollar.
