California’s beaches are one of the most popular natural tourist draws. Each beach features a different natural landscape, from lagoons and bays, to rocky stretches. The variety and easy access to many surf spots, as well as the easy to ride, quality waves, keep people coming back. California also provides visitors and residents with a plethora of snow sports for the colder months. There are five regions for skiing and snow sports in this state, and many of them are close to major cities. In this video, WatchMojo.com learns that sand, sun and snow are just a few of the reasons to visit the Golden State.
Aww the irony…
In the original Anaheim Disneyland it may be a Small World after all, but that world’s inhabitants are getting bigger and heavier almost by the day. The passengers are getting so much bigger that they are actually causing the boats to bottom out.
Disney has decided to re-engineer the rides so that it can stand the weight of the growing population. When the ride was first designed in 1963 the assumption was that the male adult riders would average 175 pounds and the women about 135, which they pretty much did at the time.
Today, the Small World ride now must accommodate adults who often weigh more than 200 pounds, which it often cannot do. Increasingly, overweighted boats get to certain points in the ride and bottom out, becoming stuck in the flume.
The ride monitors attempt to leave empty seats on many boats to compensate for the hefty, but this routinely antagonizes the hundreds of paying customers waiting in line. When a boat does bottom out, a long line of other boats backs up behind it, their passengers slowly going mad from listening to the ride’s theme song.

Locals and tourists alike attempted to hide as strangers in formal wear started throwing pies at each other in San Francisco. On 5 March at precisely 5:39pm, tons of people just started throwing pie at each other. Just for fun.
Don’t worry though - no pies were harmed in the making of this stunt: participants were advised to use pie plates filled with shaving cream as opposed to actual pie. Read more…

If you’re traveling in Santa Monica, California and expect to go for a jog, beware: you could get a ticket for stopping to stretch. And don’t even think about doing sit-ups - you could be slapped with a $158 fine. It is illegal to congregate on grassy medians, and it just so happens that these medians have long been used in the city by the exercising community to stretch, or perform certain stationary exercises. But no more. Read more…

To that end, here is a list of the top ten beaches you should avoid if you, like most, do not want to encounter one of these great creatures on your next surfside trip (however, you should keep in mind that the likelihood of you ever getting attacked by a shark is not high. Except at these beaches.):

Many would disagree, but it is my opinion that autumn sucks. Everything’s dying, you have to rake, it gets cold, you just know what’s coming next (winter). Fortunately, Mother Nature has given us a gift to get through this tough time: beautiful foliage. And there’s no better way to enjoy this wonder of nature then by driving past it in your toasty car.
