This YouTube user has made a name for himself by showing the world how simple 3D graphics are with nothing more then a Wii Remote. Now like him, I am praying that game developers take advantage of the camera accessories and/or Wii remote tech to make 3D experiences on existing 2D Displays.

Here’s his explanation of what he has done in the video: continue reading...

There’s outward 3D and then there’s inward 3D…now this is really cool and makes the DSi a very attractive platform.

The upcoming 3D game is called “Rittai Kakushi e Attakoreda” (”Hidden 3D Image, There is Is!” in English). continue reading...

Let’s take a moment to speculate on the future of gaming.

As we all know:
Sony has been quoted several times mentioning it’s overly optimistic 10-year outlook for the PS3. I for one cannot imagine the console (or any other current system) being viable until 2016. continue reading...

You may have noticed on the local news and all over the web that 3D TV is coming to a store near you and will be everywhere within 2-5 years. So I guess this means Nintendo’s next console, tentatively titled the “Wii HD” is already obsolete! Maybe they should call it something like “Wii 3D” or “WiiD” or “Wii H3D” to clarify their intentions. I need to remind myself to copyright that gold.

So, how do you feel about the fact that your new plasma or LCD is going to be completely old school right after buying it? I remember that our old Tube TV went strong since I was 5 years old (I’m 25 now) and we only sold it a few months ago, yes it was still working great. I was hoping my HD TV would last at least the better part of a decade, not that I’m against progress…but I am miffed by the constant trips I take to my pocket for new tech. continue reading...

I have occasionally felt the temptation to pick up a Playstation 3 console, especially in light of the new design and (finally) good games.

The blu ray abilities never really tempted me as I prefer to use a dedicated player anyways, as they spend about 1/5th of the power, are quieter, and I don’t like putting the extra wear and tear on the console’s optical drive. Besides, I honestly can’t use the PlayStation’s archaic and extremely uncomfortable controller for long stretches at a time (I might just start a Facebook group calling for it’s immediate change, how hard can it be for them to swap the left D pad and Analog stick already?). continue reading...

from Engadget.com:

We knew it was coming this month, now we have the day: tomorrow. Yup, PlayStation Home will launch globally on December 11th. The 3D virtual on-line community is like Second Life, only with the risk of rootkit. Hot. All kidding aside, the new service gives PS3 owners a customizable place to chat (voice or text) and play games with other PlayStation Home users through personalized avatars. Just like real life except without acne and all your social shortcomings. Home will be available to download and “experience basic features” for free — some services (like creating a “club”) will require cash though, so be prepared. continue reading...
