EVANSTON, IL — (MARKET WIRE) — April 25, 2007 — Inspired by the work done by the Women’s Board of Children’s Home + Aid to support the welfare of Illinois children and families, artist Eve J. Alfillé introduces a new jewelry collection that will help support this important work. Eve J. Alfillé Gallery & Studio (www.evejewelry.com) will give 10 percent of the purchase price of these unique pieces directly to Children’s Home + Aid. The new designs, based on the non-profit organization’s new butterfly logo, will be unveiled tonight at a fundraising event hosted by the Gallery. This is the second event hosted at the Gallery to benefit Children’s Home + Aid.
Last November, Children’s Home + Aid introduced its new butterfly logo. The metamorphosis of the butterfly symbolizes the essence of Children’s Home + Aid, to help children, youth and families grow and change, so they may build a better life for themselves. The new collection is very representative of this symbol and its meaning, but infuses Alfillé’s trademark approach to making unique pieces meant to connect with the personality and soul of the wearer.
“When we were approached to create this series we agreed that the butterfly logo was a wonderful basis for this collection, with the child being enveloped within the transcendent form of the butterfly,” added Alfillé. “Although these pieces are clearly representative of the logo, we were able to add elements that represent the passion and inspiration that comprises this wonderful organization. For instance, we used pearls in many of the pieces, which are a symbol of hope, rebirth and renewal.”
The Children’s Home + Aid jewelry pieces are available for purchase at the Eve J. Alfillé Gallery & Studio, 623 Grove Street, in downtown Evanston or online at www.evejewelry.com. The Gallery will donate 10 percent of all sales proceeds from this collection directly to Children’s Home + Aid. The pieces in this special collection are crafted one at a time, by hand, after your order has been placed. Please allow up to two weeks for completion of these special pieces.
About Children’s Home + Aid and the Woman’s Board
Children’s Home + Aid saves children’s lives, moves families forward, and goes where the need is greatest. Each year they help nearly 40,000 children and families in Illinois through services like adoption, foster care, early childhood education, counseling for children, youth, and families, and child abuse prevention, parenting, and family support programs.
Founded in 1920, the Woman’s Board of Children’s Home + Aid is group of Chicago women dedicated to improving the lives of abused and neglected children. Since their inception, the Board has organized an annual September Gala to support the services of Children’s Home + Aid. By partnering with Eve Alfillé they hope to raise funding and awareness for disadvantaged Illinois children and families.
Children’s Home + Aid helps families and children — both through personal growth and shelter — to transform their current situation into a new and better one filled with hope and opportunity. The butterfly is a profound symbol of their change and survival. For more information, please visit www.childrenshomeandaid.org.
