On April 24th, Shout! Factory released Ironside: Season One on DVD. The classic Emmy winning and Golden Globe nominated series centers around former Chief of Detectives Robert T. Ironside (Raymond Burr), who solves major crimes despite being confined to a wheelchair by a sniper’s bullet. Please see below streaming video, box art, press release and other assets and let me know if you’d like copies for review and/or giveaway for Reel Movie Critic.

Confined to a wheelchair by a sniper’s bullet, former Chief of Detectives Robert T. Ironside (Emmy-winner** Raymond Burr of Perry Mason) consults for the San Francisco police department, solving major crimes with a crack team of investigators, including Detective Sergeant Ed Brown (Don Galloway of Arrest & Trial), policewoman Eve Whitfield (Emmy-winner Barbara Anderson of the original Mission Impossible) and ex-con Mark Sanger (Don Mitchell).

Set during the turbulent 1960s, Emmy-winning Ironside confronted the hottest issues of its time – civil rights, drugs, hippies, rock ’n’ roll – topped the ratings while on NBC from 1967 to 1975, and gave television its first disabled hero. The ground-breaking inaugural season boasts original music by Quincy Jones and an array of guest stars including Jack Lord (Dr. No and Hawaii Five-O), Susan Saint James (Kate & Allie), David Carradine (Kung Fu and Kill Bill) and Gary Collins (Airport).

Available on DVD for the very first time on April 24, 2007, Ironside - Season One includes all 28 original episodes, as well as the made-for-TV movie that started it all, in an action-packed 8-DVD box set for the suggested list price of $59.98.
