2009 World Press Photo Exhibit

Founded in Amsterdam in 1955, the World Press Photo competition and traveling exhibit aim to promote and support press photography. The organization also endeavors to encourage certain ideals in the profession, and create visibility for press photography as an art. The World Press Photo exhibit can be seen in 45 countries all over the world, and is visited annually by roughly two million people.
