Originally picking up a guitar so he could stay up past his bedtime, John Petrucci has since parlayed his prowess into the prog metal band Dream Theater. One of the reasons for which Petrucci is so respected is his proficiency in a wide array of musical styles. He has been featured on the popular G3 guitar tour with the likes of Joe Satriani, Paul Gilbert and Steve Vai, having appeared on the tour six times.
