once again, my favorite Myspace music duo are set to rock Montreal’s socks. The talented beatmaker/party dj Grahm (MTL’s own Metrix) and (loosely) Toronto based emcee Isis (for an extensive interview with her, check out www.shotgunreviews.com (in the Lyrical Lounge) came together about half a year ago through chance meetings facilitated by Myspace and the result has been bananas. The kids can’t get enough of their tracks, especially “Bubblegum”, which was recently the subject to a short video contest at their last show December 17th at Club Lambi. They’ve already embarked on a mini-tour, spreading their seeds all the way to Vancouver. Their “Anthem” has already seen spins CBC affiliated, and 2007 will be kicked off right January 13th, a reunion of sorts with the Showtime boys and girls whose Peer Pressure Saturday marked the pair’s first show ever in the later quarter of last year. They made it on the cover of this week’s Mirror (picture credits to May Truong who may live in Toronto now, but we’re still claiming her here) with predictions that they’ll be noisy-making in the “oh-sept” (duh). Check out the myspace that started it all with their latest tribute to goats, “Horny” (www.myspace.com/thunderheist)
