Quebec government sued for buying Microsoft software

Only in Quebec!  I cannot I say disagree with ways for the government to save tax payer’s money, but still… sued?
Quebec’s open-source software association is suing the provincial government, saying it is giving preferential treatment to Microsoft Corp. by buying the company’s products rather than using free alternatives.

When Will Canada Enter the 21st Century?

I missed this earlier this month, but one more example of small-mindedness from Canada:
Let’s get the government to force more Canadian content down our throat on the Web, just like they do on radio and TV and print.  How freaking lame.
