I’ve been wanting to feature a White Stripes video for a while now, but didn’t want to feature the predictable clips that got massive airtime on MTV and the like. All that changed when I came across this little chestnut. I always liked “The Denial Twist” as a song, but had only heard it a few times and to be completely honest I haven’t listened to 2005’s Get Behind Me Satan all that much… I keep meaning to, but its just one of those albums that I always push back until its almost out of my mind completely and then I discover something awesome like this video and realize I should listen to it more.
In any case, this is a really visual video that somehow incorporates Conan O’Brien, a late night drive and a visit to an apartment into a full circle head trip. I guess that’s not that surprising considering its directed by Michel Gondry who’s known for combining visual effects with camera trickery to achieve some pretty amazing things. You’ll see what I mean:
