Matthew Good certainly has something to be happy about this week. Good’s long hours in the studio has paid off with his second solo album reaching the number 1 spot across Canada with over 11,000 copies sold since its release, based on the records of Nielsen SondScan.

Am I the only one who was not even aware of the fact that Good had gone solo? I suppose this says enough about the success of his first solo effort.

“A No. 1 album is exactly what the doctor ordered for outspoken and cantankerous Canrocker Matthew Good.

His second solo effort, “Hospital Music,” checked into the No. 1 spot in the nation, selling over 11,000 copies, according to figures compiled by Nielsen SoundScan.

It marks the first time in eight years that Good has been on top of the album charts, since the Matthew Good Band led the way with “Beautiful Midnight” back in 1999.”
