Check out Stereogum today to listen to “Echoes Round The Sun” from Paul Weller’s new album ‘22 Dreams’ (July 22, Yep Roc). Weller co-wrote the song with Oasis’ Noel Gallagher. The song is brilliant, a shimmering blast of pure energy, destined to join The Verve’s “Bittersweet Symphony” and The Chemical Brothers’ “Setting Sun” as an instant anthem of British rock. See below to hear what Paul has to say about writing and recording “Echoes Round The Sun.”

“Noel came down to the studio with this loop he’d never been able to do anything with. He played the bass and the piano and then Gem played guitar on top. I extemporised some vocals over the top. In song writing terms, it’s the first Weller/Gallagher collaboration. It’s a top tune.”

Paul Weller will tour the U.S. later this year. Stay tuned for more information.
