When the Americans left Afghanistan, they ventured West into Iraq.  Some joked that the timing coincided with the liberation of Afghani women.  They no longer had to wear burkas and they could attend school.
Today we read about how Iraqi women in Basra are popping up everywhere attacked, mutilated and dead.
Nothing spells freedom like mutilation.
