After doing all he could to remain an Arizona Diamondback, Randy Johnson filed for free agency. Although, Johnson was willing to take a 50% pay cut to remain a Diamondback, the economic situation did not lend itself to an agreement.

Randy Moss signed with the NE Pats to win a Super Bowl, upset by the NY Giants, the big prize eluded him.

Oh, how quickly we forget.  The NHL’s salary cap bumped up to $50.3M per year for each team, and that meant that checkbooks would be flying when the free agency began yesterday, July 1.

Roger Clemens signed a pro-rated $28M deal, for about 25 starts, meaning that he’ll make about $1M per start.  The Yanks are weak this year, their bullpen has been rocked, and as much as I respect the Rocket, the man is 44.
Will this pay off?  We’ll see.
