Released in 1996, this would-be mascot was created by Naughty Dog and Universal Interactive Studios. Published by Sony, this genetically modified animal erupted on the scene and brought some much-needed personality to the original PlayStation console, while leading the charge against Nintendo's iconic plumber. At this beginning this first adventure, a mutated marsupial has been modified by the evil Doctor Neo Cortex and his Evolvo-Ray. An early test subject, Crash takes it upon himself to stop the madman, and his henchman Doctor Nitrus Brio, from seeking world domination through the use of their army of mutated animals.
