We’re starting to become a bit concerned (or giddy) about the rapid spike in video advertising estimate by 2010.
We’re giddy because we produce quite a lot of content over at WatchMojo.com, we’re giddy because these data companies have a lot to gain by pumping the numbers… are they? I don’t know, but look at this:
an estimate of the online video ad market for
2009 - set in 2004: $657 million - see
more.
an estimate of the online video ad market for
2009 - set in 2005: $1.5 billion - see
more.
an estimate of the online video ad market for
2010 - set in 2006: $2.3 billion - see
more.
an estimate of the online video ad market for
2010 - set in late 2006: $3 billion - see
more.
Of course, online advertising as a whole is growing, and TV advertising is a $75B industry, so there is a lot of upside in video, I presume.
