I’ll have to dig in deeper, but some interesting stats:
- Total uniques for March 2007 up 21% from February 2007. Pageviews up 10%.
- Base traffic for March 2007 up 39% from February 2007, base traffic is “direct, type-in traffic,” - that is a key measure I look at because advertisers put top placement on 1. direct, type-in traffic, i.e. who comes to your site on purpose as part of their daily surfing patterns; 2. a) organic search engine results; 2. b) link exchange partner traffic; 3. paid click traffic.
- Record month for type-in traffic in March 2007.
Explaining, debating and arguing why I think traffic is valued in that order is a separate post, one that I’ll probably write, but I avoid doing so because it indirectly criticizes a lot of sites that seem to favor quantity over quality of traffic.
- Traffic for Q1 2007 in terms of unique users represented 80% of our total 2006 uniques, not bad at all.
- March 2006 to March 2007, unique users grew 1,088%.
