One more estimate to add to our ongoing list of online video advertising estimates and forecasts:

New multimedia platforms in the U.S. will capture $12.6 billion in advertising revenue by 2012, according to Parks Associates’ report New Advertising Platforms and Technologies. Broadband multimedia advertising, the focus of the expected Writers Guild of America resolution, will account for more than $6.6 billion of that total.

We’ve been keeping ongoing tabs on the growth of online video, as you can see forecast estimates have been mushrooming:

What does this say? Putting it all together, we have video ads surpassing search ads by 2018 and online ads surpassing TV ads by 2021.

If you want to see previous actual video advertising, here is a graph from eMarketer.  It’s worth noting that in 2004, they said that online video would be $657M by 2009, yet by 2007, online video ads were at $775M.
