			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Last year I was sitting in the audience when Michael Arrington said &#8220;we have a very strong economy&#8221;.  At the time, you saw the wheels coming off the mortgage market, which in turn would kill housing, finance&#8230; with the military and automotive sectors also in the toilet, pretty much every engine of the once-great American economic system was about to crash.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s nice to see that today, when the markets are going off the rails, people are as clueless and out of touch as always.</p>
<p>Are Facebook semantics <a href="http://www.techcrunch.com/2008/09/15/facebook-isnt-a-social-network-and-dont-try-to-make-new-friends-there/" target="_blank">really</a> all that important?</p>
