Top 10 Biggest Celebrity Game of Thrones Fans

At this point, we’re pretty sure that literally everyone watches “Game of Thrones.” Celebrities included. Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we’re counting down our picks for the top ten biggest celebrity “Game of Thrones” fans.

For this list, we’ll be looking at well-known public figures who’ve spoken about their love of “Game of Thrones.” We’ll be touching on some major plot developments, so a spoiler warning is in effect.

#10: Snoop Dogg

He’s probably high as hell while watching it, but Snoop Dogg loves him some “Game of Thrones.” He and Seth Rogen spoke about their love of the show on Snoop’s GGN while partaking in a little somethin’ somethin’. Snoop gives a fantastic recap of events leading up to Tyrion’s trial by combat. He also offers his two cents on why the Unsullied lack their . . . stones and pillars. It’s good times all around, and like Seth said, Snoop should really host a weekly “Game of Thrones” recap. If they’re anything like this one, they would definitely be entertaining.

#9: Ryan Reynolds

While we haven’t seen Ryan on the show, it’s not for lack of trying. His wife Blake Lively has spoken about his obsession, joking that he “did everything he could to pirate episodes that hadn’t even been shot yet.” Reynolds has admitted that there’s nothing he won’t do to get his “Game of Thrones” fix, and suggested that he could play a “long lost Lannister” or take over from Liam Cunningham or Aidan Gillen. Picture that – during the Battle of Winterfell, a lost Lannister brother shows up and it’s Ryan Reynolds! Actually, we’re not sure how well that would go over. The Ed Sheeran cameo was quite the debacle.

#8: Ed Sheeran

While we’re at it, let’s address the elephant in the room. No, Ed Sheeran’s cameo didn’t work for a lot of fans, who simply found it distracting. Other viewers felt it was fine however, as his character didn’t really do anything substantial. Showrunner David Benioff said that Ed made it onto the show because they knew he was a big fan, and that Maisie Williams was a fan of the singer! So it sounds like it was a dream come true for everyone. Except maybe miffed “Game of Thrones” fans.

#7: John Legend

A lot of people take “Game of Thrones” very seriously, and have a strict no talking rule during the episode. Such is the case with John Legend and Chrissy Teigen. For the season eight premiere, John literally locked Chrissy out of the room while he and friend Mike Rosenthal watched the episode. Mike’s wife, Jenna Atkins, was also excluded, as both apparently “talk too much.” Mike even told Jenna that he’s been waiting two years for the episode and that she would ruin it for him. However, that didn’t stop the ladies from breaking in and interrupting the show.

#6: Leslie Jones

Leslie Jones is always on, even when she’s watching a show as dark and dramatic as “Game of Thrones.” She loves to live tweet during new episodes, and most of the tweets are jokes centered around characters, quotes, and Cersei’s questionable fashion choices. Her fandom is also on full display during Seth Meyers’s Game of Jones segment, in which he and Jones watch new episodes of the show. For the season eight premiere, Jones reacts to the new opening credits, explains how Jon and Daenerys are related . . . sorta, and does a pretty convincing impression of a dragon. She’s proooobably never getting invited to John Legend’s house to watch though.

#5: Elizabeth Banks

Elizabeth Banks is also a persistent “Game of Thrones” tweeter. She’s been a fan of the show since at least season two, as she wrote on her blog that she was making her way through the DVD special features and that she was excited for season three. And while she doesn’t live tweet like Leslie Jones, she does share her thoughts and opinions on all the latest episodes. For example, she recently tweeted “that kid on the wall tho,” referring to Ned Umber, and that “newly-knighted Brienne is a dead woman.” She’s been keeping up with the show for years, and for that, we have to give her major props.

#4: Anna Kendrick

Just like everyone else, Anna Kendrick has some theories as to where season eight is heading. She sat down with HelloGiggles and shared a few of her theories, like that Tyrion will betray Daenerys and side with Cersei. You do have to admit, there seemed to be a lot ofdetail missing from that fateful King’s Landing meeting. However, she’s not a fan of the popular Mad King-Bran theory, saying “if it turns out that the Mad King went crazy because of something Bran did, just forget the whole thing”. It’s nice to know that even A-list celebrities are getting in on the theory action.

#3: Kerry Washington

Sometimes fandoms start out of spite. At least they do with Kerry Washington. Kerry originally got into “Game of Thrones” because her parents would end their Sunday night calls to watch the show. Kerry told Jimmy Fallon that she began to watch the show “to make fun ofthem” but quickly got sucked in like the rest of us. And she’s since thanked her mom in spades - cooking her a “Game of Thrones”-inspired dinner, complete with turkey legs, rice pilaf, grapes, fire-roasted vegetables, and ale. A few years later, she took her mom to the set of“Jimmy Kimmel Live!” when she was on with Nikolaj Coster-Waldau.

#2: Kristen Bell & Dax Shepard

When it comes to celebrity “Game of Thrones” fans, few, if any, are at the level of Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard. They’ve gone all out on numerous occasions, and attending the season six premiere in matching shirts is just the start. In July 2017, they created an elaborate music video for the season seven premiere, where they can be seen “playing” the theme song in various “Game of Thrones” costumes. For the season eight premiere, they attended a party with Kristen dressed as a dragon and Dax as Bran. Then there was Kristen’s reaction to the Red Wedding . . . Hey, we were all there with you Kristen!

Before we unveil our top pick, here are a few honorable mentions.

Zach Braff

Joe Manganiello & Sofia Vergara

Jennifer Lawrence

Lilly Singh

Madonna

#1: Barack Obama

Now just picture this – the President of the United States sitting in the White House watching “Game of Thrones.” Before everyone else. That’s exactly what happened when Obama was President, as he actually ordered advanced screenings of the show. The producers relented, because as showrunner David Benioff said, “When the commander-in-chief says, ‘I want to see advanced episodes,’ what are you gonna do?” Obama told GQ that Tyrion is his favorite character, and even asked the CEO of HBO if Jon Snow was really dead at a state dinner. Now that’s a dedicated fan!
