Negan might just be the best villain “The Walking Dead” ever had. Welcome to WatchMojo.com, and today we are counting down our picks for the Top 10 Negan Moments on The Walking Dead.

For this list, we’ll be looking at moments in the show where the main antagonist, Negan, steals the spotlight with his immense charisma and strange sense of humor. Be warned, this list will contain heavy spoilers for Seasons 7 and 8 of “The Walking Dead.”

#10: Negan Kills David

“Something They Need”

You wouldn’t expect somebody so sadistic to have a chivalrous side. After Sasha gets captured during her assault on Sanctuary, she gets an unpleasant welcome from one of Negan’s men. David sees the opportunity to take advantage of the unarmed prisoner, but she is unexpectedly saved by Negan who reminds his underling that the Saviors do not rape… right before jamming a knife into his neck. He’s actually pretty protective of Sasha and has a ton of respect for her, even when she agrees to act as the sacrifice for Alexandria.

#9: Negan Asks Carl to Show Him His Eye

“Sing Me a Song”

One of the more interesting aspects of Negan is his relationship with Rick’s son, Carl, who never really backs down from a confrontation even when Negan is at his most intimidating. When Carl gets captured after mowing down several Saviors in a surprise attack, Negan takes him to his room for a little chat, which culminates in Carl being forced to take off his eye-patch and show his horrific wound. While it was supposed to be a joke, Negan is surprisingly apologetic after seeing Carl’s feelings about his disfigured face. It shows a more human side to someone who is supposed to be a brutal villain.

#8: Negan vs. Simon

“Worth”

If there’s anyone in the Saviors who can match Negan’s immense charisma, it’s his lieutenant Simon. He’s a great character who you just can’t help but love. However, when Negan goes missing after his showdown with Rick, Simon seizes the opportunity to become the new leader of the Saviors. Naturally, someone like Negan doesn’t go down that easily and he returns to take back control of his men. And how does he do this? He challenges Simon to showdown “Fight Club-style” and chokes him to death, once again showing that betraying Negan is a really, really bad idea.

#7: Spaghetti Dinner

“Hearts Still Beating”

If there’s any scene that shows off Negan’s boundless confidence, it’s this one. He shaves his face in Rick’s bathroom, sits on the porch with Rick’s baby Judith, and also cooks a mean spaghetti dinner in Rick’s kitchen. He even makes Carl and Olivia sit with him at the dinner table in what must be the most uncomfortable silence ever while they wait for Rick to return. Of course, in true Negan fashion, he gets tired of waiting and digs in anyway.

#6: Rick & Carl Face Round Two of Lucille

“The First Day of the Rest of Your Life”

Just when Rick and gang had the upper hand on the Saviors when they show up to Alexandria to negotiate Sasha’s release, the group from the scrapyard betrays them at the last second. As a result, our heroes once again end up on their knees in front of Negan and his trusty bat, Lucille. Just when it looks like Carl will become the next victim of the bat, their allies from the Hilltop and The Kingdom show up in force causing the Saviors to make a hasty retreat back to Sanctuary, with Negan giving Rick a classy “good-bye” as he drives off.

#5: The Final Showdown Between Rick & Negan

“Wrath”

After a desperate ambush, and a clever ploy by Eugene, the two leaders find themselves duking it out one final time. Rick of course loses his gun, and while Negan might be injured he still has his trusty Lucille, which gives him the upper hand. He dominates the whole scene and even has Rick begging for mercy once again. It’s only when Rick starts to talk about Carl that Negan drops his guard. We see him start to tear up at the thought of Carl’s ideal end to the war, and that’s when Rick strikes with a shard of glass.

#4: Taking Rick for a Drive in the RV

“The Day Will Come When You Won’t Be”

Coming off his wonderful introduction to the show, Negan strives to really hammer home just who’s in charge after Rick proclaims his desire to kill him. And he does this by literally dragging Rick into the RV and going on a small road trip. Rick is completely at his mercy during the whole ride, and even though the two of them are alone, Negan manhandles the shocked sheriff the entire time. The trip reaches a climax when the RV gets surrounded by Walkers, and Negan takes the opportunity to test Rick’s submission by tossing an axe out of the door and telling him to go get it.

#3: Negan Kills Doctor Carson

“Hostiles and Calamities”

A lot of people die in this series in a lot of different and brutal ways, but this has to be one of the worst. As we have learned over the course of the war, Negan is someone who likes to dole out punishment to anyone who breaks the rules. Be it a knife to the neck or an iron to the face, Negan doesn’t mess around with troublemakers. So, when Daryl somehow escapes imprisonment, Dwight points the finger at Doctor Carson who swears he doesn’t know anything. Unfortunately, Negan does not believe him and throws him into the furnace to burn alive. Talk about brutal.

#2: Gutting Spencer

“Hearts Still Beating”

From constantly questioning Rick’s leadership to stashing supplies that could get the whole town in trouble with the Saviors, it’s hard to feel bad for Spencer. When Negan visits the town while Rick is gone, Spencer takes the chance to sweet talk him over a game of pool in the hopes that Negan will take Rick out for him so that he can lead Alexandria. At first it, the leader of the Saviors seems interested, but it turns out that he is not a fan of gutless cowards; A point he makes clear by cutting open Spencer’s stomach and spilling his insides out onto the concrete.

Before we unveil our top pick, here are a few Honorable Mentions:

Negan’s Confession to Gabriel

“The Big Scary U”

“The Big Scary U”

Negan Apologizes to Jadis

“Still Gotta Mean Something”

#1: The Double Execution

“The Day Will Come When You Won’t Be”

First impressions are everything, and Negan’s introduction was something that kept the internet talking for months. At the start of the seventh season, we see all our favorite characters at the mercy of the Saviors, waiting for the illusive leader to pick someone to become intimately acquainted with his spiked bat, Lucille. He eventually chooses and kills Abraham, but in a shocking twist, Daryl loses his temper and attacks Negan, which results in him caving in the head of a second victim; the fan favorite Glenn, a death that many people lamented and one that solidified Negan as a villain to be reckoned with.
