#5: Ronin Role Reversal

In the trailer, Hawkeye seems horrified to learn that someone was using his Ronin identity. He once used that persona to deal out violent justice in “Avengers: Endgame”. During Clint’s hunt for the copycat vigilante, he corners a person who looks like Ronin and finds Kate under the mask. This meeting was a great reversal on a memorable Marvel moment. In the comics, Kate was suddenly attacked by a masked Ronin while she was on a date in New York City. She later finds out that Clint put on the mask to test her skills and potential to be the new Hawkeye. Reversing this encounter on the show was a great way to pay homage to the comics and set up a huge thematic question. Can Clint face the dark sins he committed as Ronin while making sure that Kate has a bright heroic future?

#4: Tracksuit Draculas

It looks like Clint and Kate will have to deal with a bunch of tracksuit wearing villains during their New York City adventures. Hawkeye has a history of taking on these not so fashionable villains. While Clint was living in Brooklyn in the comics, a group of guys in tracksuits try to raise the rent on everyone in his building. After they strongly refuse Hawkeye's offer to buy the building, the Avenger has a violent encounter with the group. This was just the first time the men that were nicknamed the “Tracksuit Draculas” and who love to say the word “bro” became a problem. Watching Kate blow up a “Trust A Bro” van in the trailer was another fantastic and funny hint that she and Clint are ready to take the tracksuit draculas down in the MCU.

#3: Vera Farmiga Could Be A Big Villain

Although actress Vera Farmiga is only in the “Hawkeye” trailer for a small beat, her appearance has seriously big implications. Early reports said that she will be playing Kate’s mother, Eleanor Bishop. A comic version of this character was thought to be dead before it was revealed that she was alive and working with villains like Madame Masque. While it’s unclear if Hawkeye will follow that exact storyline, we know Farmiga is very versatile. She played a heroine in “The Conjuring '' franchise, a villain on “Bates Motel” and a morally grey character in a “Godzilla” movie. Her amazing resume ensures that we’ll be glued to the screen every time she appears on Hawkeye as Eleanor― no matter who’s side she’s on.

#2: “Rogers The Musical” is Full of Hilarious Homages

One of the funniest and most unexpected surprises we got was the introduction of “Rogers of Musical”. It looks like this MCU Broadway show will tell Steve’s story while incorporating characters like Hawkeye, Loki, Thor and many others. Based on the sight of actors in Chitauri costumes, we’ll get at least one big song and dance number set during the battle of New York. Not only is this musical’s existence a great callback to Captain America’s touring show, but it’s also a funny shoutout to Loki’s play in “Thor Ragnarok”. The yellow and black posters “Rogers the Musical” ads are also a hilarious visual parody of the actual ads used for “Hamilton”. Although we’ve only seen a few seconds of the fictional “Rogers the Musical”, we have a feeling it’s 1000 times better than the real life “Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark” ever was.

#1: Lucky, AKA Arrow, AKA, Pizza Dog

The adorably dressed dog that appears in the trailer is one of Marvel’s most notable canines. In the comics, Clint spots this pup hanging with the Tracksuit Draculas. The Avenger stops what he’s doing to feed the pup pizza. When the tracksuit Draculas try to shoot Clint, the dog bites one of the armed gangsters. After the villains seriously injure the canine for his brave act, Hawkeye gets the dog some help. Although the pup is appropriately named Arrow, Clint names him Lucky and takes him in. We’ve seen a few iconic animals get added to the MCU in everything from “Shang Chi” to “Loki’ over the past year. Lucky’s arrival could mean that it’s officially time for an animalistic Avengers team to assemble.
