The shores of the Red Sea in Eilat are home to the Dolphin’s Reef. This site is a perfect family activity. Quiet beaches and beautiful views are just part of the draw: visitors are also able to observe dolphins in their natural habitat. Guests can even get up close and personal with the group of bottlenose dolphins from floating piers.
Underwater Adventures
Also in the Red Sea, the Underwater Observatory Marine Park provides views below sea level. It has been called one of the world’s most exciting marine parks. Jacqueline, the yellow submarine, dives to a depth of almost 200 feet, or 60 meters, and provides visitors with unique and spectacular views of some deeper coral reefs.
A Piece of History
The Israel Museum is a great place for families because of its Youth Wing. Workshops and educational activities compliment the artwork, which comes from Israeli artists as well as internationally. Another site not to miss at the Israel Museum is the Shrine of the Book, which houses the Dead Sea Scrolls. The building itself is a quirky piece of architecture that children may recognize from its use in some science fiction films.
It’s great to choose a hotel equipped with a pool for hot days, and family fun. But be sure there will never be a shortage of family-friendly activities in Israel.
