6 Ways To Break Zelda Tears Of The Kingdom

Welcome to MojoPlays, and today we’re looking at 6 of the most game breaking exploits that exist in Tears of the Kingdom. We’ll be including bugs that have been patched out since the release version, which is a favorite of speedrunners.

Camera HUD Removal

This bug doesn’t reward you with game breaking-strength, it instead lets you finally take photos without the irritating camera HUD. It’s quite simple to pull off, all you need to do is take any picture with the camera, then press delete while also holding L and the right analog stick. If timed successfully, your camera HUD will vanish completely, enabling you to indulge in photography without that pesky HUD in the way. Alongside this, your pictures will be much higher quality than if they were taken normally. Not the most powerful way to break the game, but definitely useful!

The “Wacko Boingo”

Winning the award for best-named glitch, it’s the “Wacko Boingo”. This one allows Link to travel at faster speeds than anything else in the game. Travel to Riverside Stable, then place a glider in front of Zorona and Kairo. Initiate conversation while standing on your glider, and a side quest cutscene will play out, causing your glider to vanish and respawn with extreme slippiness. Then, glue a battery to it, stand on top, and you can now fly anywhere by simply moving the battery, at unprecedented speeds. With this exploit, Link can become the first to break the light barrier.

Zonai Sort Duplication

This duplication glitch is one of the easiest to pull off, and like all duplication glitches, the rewards are amazing. To do this, first move Link so he’s facing a wall, slightly in front of it. Then, carry 10 Zonai devices, then press Y and B simultaneously. The game will pull out 10 devices, while 10 still remain in your inventory. This works for all Zonai devices, which are some of the most valuable resources in the game. If you’re the type of player who would rather build than farm for items, this exploit could save you countless hours.

Auto Build Cancel Slide

This is one of the first exploits found, and is rather simple to pull off. First, take a piece of wood, and then attach an item to it, like an apple. It’ll be registered as an autobuild, so next, just take it out and build it. Once done, quickly pressing B+Y will cause the autobuild to vanish in the background, but you will still be on the menu. Build it again, and you will now have a floating plank, which follows Link everywhere he moves. If you are acrobatic enough to get on top, you can now zip anywhere on the map at rapid speeds.

Unbreakable Fences

In the Right-Leg Depot, a very special item can be found, one that can stop Ganon in his tracks, entirely on its own. These are fences attached to lifts, which can be pulled off by gluing a few stabilizers or rockets to them. Now, you can assemble four fences into a box, stick them together, and you now have one of the most powerful weapons in Hyrule. This fence is indestructible, and can be spawned in to trap literally any enemy, including the final boss Ganondorf. Forget the master sword, railings are Link’s real trump card.

Before we look at our last pick, here are some honorable mentions!

Durability Glitch

Use a Dazzle Fruit on a Lizalfos to Pick up Your Weapon. Despawning It Will Make It Mint Condition!

Wireless Energy

Fusing a Battery to Your Shield, Attaching the Pair to a Zonai Device and Then Culling the Battery Will Grant Infinite Power!

Infinite Jumps

Do a Jump Attack, Then in Mid-Air Press B, Open the Shield Menu, and Then Bring out Your Bow to Enter Bullet Time.

Bow Attachment Desync

Also called B.A.D. arrows, This Glitch Allows Players to Attach More Than One Fusion to a Multishot Bow.

Zuggle Overloading

The powerful zuggling glitch lets Link carry more than one weapon simultaneously. To pull it off, walk Link up to a wall, then press L, and hover over the map. Now, just unclick and press the right arrow on the d-pad, and drop your equipped weapon. Immediately press right again and choose one more weapon, the map will now open, next open the inventory, drop your weapon again and press the plus button. Now, Link will be carrying two weapons at once. You can repeat this continuously, theoretically until Link carries every single weapon in Hyrule. Additionally, dropping the weapons causes duplication. Finally, zuggling 30 times and activating a steering stick causes a “zuggle overload”, which sends Link falling through the ground forever.
