Studio Trigger Founder Shares Tribute To Wonder Woman And Thor

These Are All Kinds Of Awesome

Both the MCU and the DCEU are worldwide phenomenons, and sometimes its easy to forget that various cultures and countries enjoy them just as much if not more than we do. As it happens, that includes director and co-founder of Studio Trigger Hiroyuki Imaishi, the man who helped bring the likes of Kamina and Satsuki to the anime scene.

According to an article on Crunchyroll, Imaishi is a big fan of American superheroes and comics, including both the Amazon Princess and the God of Thunder, leading him to draw both in his own style and post them on social media.

It’s no secret 46 year-old Gainax veteran and Trigger co-founder Hiroyuki Imaishi is a fan of American superhero comics. The director of Gurren Lagann, Panty & Stocking, Kill La Kill and Space Patrol Luluco, along with other noted animators at those studios produced a pair of famous doujinshi on the subject. He also did a Hulk cover for Marvel’s “Manga Month.” So, it shouldn’t be surprising that he was enthusiastic about the debut of Justice League, and before that, Thor: Ragnarok, or, as its known locally, Battle Royale.

Now we really want to see this guy try his hand at an anime version of both comic book universes!

Speaking of Justice League and Thor Ragnarok, for those who are interested, the Japanese voice cast turns out to have a few familiar faces attached to the dub.
