It Ain’t Over Until The Fat Walker Sings
With Telltale Games closing its doors and laying off all its staff due to bankruptcy, not only did it mean that many promised titles and sequels were never going to see the light of day, but that the Walking Dead’s Final Season was going to end at the midway point. However, just as fans had lost all hope of ever finishing Clemetine’s story, along came a silver lining by the name of Robert Kirkman; the original creator of The Walking Dead graphic novels, who looks to have saved the day at the last second.
According to an article on IGN –
Robert Kirkman announced that the final episodes of Telltale Games’ The Walking Dead: The Final Season will be released via his company, Skybound, during The Walking Dead panel at New York Comic Con on Saturday.
“Weâve successfully negotiated with Telltale Games for our company Skybound to come in and see Season 4 of the Telltale game to completion,â Kirkman said.
According to a statement from Skybound, the company has “taken ownership of Telltaleâs The Walking Dead: The Final Season and will finish the season. Skybound will work with members of the original Telltale team to finish the story in a way the fans deserve. Skybound will continue to update fans on the status of the game on Skybound.com, Twitter, and Facebook.”
Kirkman made the announcement of Skybound taking over The Walking Dead: The Final Season during The Walking Dead’s New York Comic Con panel, commenting that the world “canât lose Andrew Lincoln and Clementine in the same year.”
While we still don’t know if Clementine’s final outing will measure up to the pressure, hype and controversy that has surrounded it, it’s good to know that at the very least she’s going to be given the courtesy of an actual ending. Good on you Kirkman!
