3 Reasons You NEED to See Ralph Breaks the Internet

The Sequel Definitely Won’t Wreck-It

If Disney has shown anything in recent years it’s that sequels can not only be profitable, but also expand upon the original and that’s what seems to be in-store for the highly anticipated and well-received “Wreck-It Ralph” sequel, “Ralph Breaks the Internet”, set to release tomorrow. “Ralph Breaks the Internet” follows Ralph and his journey through the inner workings of the modern internet world in the hopes of helping his friend Vanellope von Schweetz save her video game. The excitement surrounding this sequel has been continuously built up, with numerous positive reviews and a 92% on Rotten Tomatoes to back it up, so we thought we’d let you in on three of the top reasons everyone wants to see this movie.

The Voice Cast

This sequel naturally sees the return of John C. Reilly as Wreck-It Ralph, Sarah Silverman as Vanellope, Jack McBrayer as Fix-It Felix, and Jane Lynch as Sergeant Calhoun. Alan Tudyk, who provided the voice of the villainous King Candy, is also back as a new character called KnowsMore, a search engine whose autofill function can be a touch aggressive. Newcomers include Taraji P. Henson as a trendy algorithm named Yesss and Gal Gadot as Shank, a gritty driver who naturally goes up against Vanellope in a race. Picture “Mario Kart” meets “Mad Max: Fury Road.” With James Corden, Susan Lucci, and Bill Hader rounding out the supporting cast, this roster can’t be beat.

The Internet Satire

Where the first film was a brilliant satire of video games, the sequel will expand its horizon with commentary on internet culture. In addition to online games, we can expect the movie to poke fun at clickbait headlines and iconic websites with Easter eggs aplenty. The idea of depicting the internet as an interactive city is one that’s been done before in other animated projects like “The Simpsons.” With a longer runtime and boundless imagination though, “Ralph Breaks the Internet” might take this clever premise to a whole new level. Clicking on a web browser can be like entering Wonderland and this film looks set to show us how just deep the rabbit hole goes.

More Video Game Cameos

“Wreck-It Ralph” gave us several original characters that were bound to become household names, but it also brought together a mind-blowing ensemble of gaming icons. From Sonic the Hedgehog and Bowser, to Q*bert, the film was like the video game equivalent of “Who Framed Roger Rabbit.” While we’re on the subject of Bob Hoskins movies, Mario may finally make a big screen comeback, as director Rich Moore has expressed his desire to include Nintendo’s mascot in the sequel. Moore also hinted at the possibility of seeing Tron from Disney’s 1982 cult classic. If the filmmakers have even more cameos lined up, then “Super Smash Bros. Ultimate” might only be 2018’s second most ambitious gaming crossover. Check out this video for our pick of the Top 10 Video Game Characters Who Should Cameo in Ralph Breaks the Internet:
