S.O.S! They’re Back!
After a 6 year hiatus, everyone’s inner teenager is screaming because the JoBros have reunited! Kevin, Joe and Nick made their initial debut in James Corden’s infamous “Carpool Karaoke” car and then surprised us even further last Friday, March 1st, by dropping their first single since 2013, “Sucker”. Now that the Jonas Brothers are back in the spotlight, we went over 10 lesser known facts about them including that their breakup was BAD, Kevin testified in a FIFA trial, Joe broke his purity vow, Nick needed therapy and more. They Were Rule Breakers
Any connection to Disney comes with a firm set of rules and standards that stars have to meet which often restrict their freedom and we can imagine that would be difficult for these brothers growing up, especially given their newfound Jonas Brother street cred! But, apparently singing wasn’t Joe’s only talent, he was also an escape artist, because according to The Gamer, he said: “I used to sneak out (and meet up) with this one girl in her car. We thought we were in trouble because we were both working with Disney.”
Nick Had a Bad Date With Selena Gomez
In a 2018 interview with Radio 1, Nick was confronted by Selena Gomez who brought up a pretty unsuccessful date the two had been on about 10 years back. As Nick explains it: “we were very private about our relationship, and she was unhappy that her Central Park experience was ruined by the fact that I walked about 20 feet away from her, even though they were taking pictures of us and obviously we were there together, I was like, ‘It’d be better if we stood about 25 feet apart’. So it ruined her Central Park experience.'” Understandable, but we’d gladly stand 20 feet away from a Jonas brother and call it a date.
They Were Almost Spies?
Okay, not REAL spies…but TV spies still count right?!? Well, coming fresh out of their on-screen debut “Camp Rock”, the boys were set to star in a new Disney Channel original TV series called J.O.N.A.S, which was originally about a boy band living a double life as spies (the accronym standing for “Junior Operatives Networking As Spies”). In classic fashion however, Disney took over creatively and the series became a more realistic depiction of their lives balancing music with things like school work and relationships. But hey, now that they’re back, who knows what their next mission will be!
What Happened Between Joe and T Swift?
Although this relationship ended faster than you can say ‘Jonas Brother’, it’s definitely worth a mention. Between briefly dating Demi Lovato and his current fiancé Sophie Turner – there’s also Gigi Hadid in there somewhere but that’s a topic for another list – Joe and Taylor Swift had a short-lived relationship. In fact, T Swift even went public with the breakup story on Ellen, saying he dumped her over the phone in only 25 seconds. Joe later responded to the story by saying that “Phone calls can only last as long as the person on the other end of the line is willing to talk.†So whoever you choose to believe, it’s safe to say the two were not meant to last until the year 3000.
Bonus Jonas Was Arrested For Posession
The youngest Jonas brother Frankie, although too young to join the band at the time, did make a few apperances on his brother’s works like in “Camp Rock 2” and in episodes of “Jonas”. Unfortunately, his face made headlines for the wrong reasons in 2016 when he was cited for drug posession in Nashville. Things have been looking up for him ever since though, with his interest in music production on SoundCloud and most recently being a groomsman at Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra’s wedding.
