10 Celebrities Tied Up in the Diddy Trials

10 Celebrities Tied Up in the Diddy Trials
Welcome to MsMojo, and today well be looking at the biggest names in the entertainment industry who have become entangled in the sprawling criminal case against Sean Diddy Combs.
Cassie Ventura
The numerous allegations against Sean Diddy Combs might have remained hidden if not for Cassie Venturas decision to speak out. In November 2023, the singer filed a lawsuit accusing him of physical and sexual assault. Although that case was quickly settled, Ventura became a crucial witness for the prosecution in Combs trial. Over four days of testimony, she described Combs as controlling and violent, claiming he coerced her into participating in his so-called freak-offs to the extent that they became her job. She further alleged that when she tried to leave him in 2018, Combs sexually assaulted her and threatened the rapper she was dating. Venturas detailed testimony, as well as the surveillance footage showing Combs physically assaulting her, are central to the prosecutions case.
Kid Cudi
Grammy-winning rapper Kid Cudi became entangled in the case due to his brief relationship with Cassie Ventura in 2011. When Combs found out about this relationship, he allegedly became furious, leading Cudi to take Ventura to a hotel for her safety. While there, Cudi received a call claiming Combs was at his house, but when he arrived, Combs was gone. Instead, Cudi discovered his Christmas presents had been opened, his dog was locked in the bathroom, and his security cameras had been repositioned. The following year, after his relationship with Ventura had ended, Cudis car was destroyed by a Molotov cocktail, an incident he believes was orchestrated by Combs. Although some have labeled Cudi a rat for testifying against Combs, he has also received widespread support from fans.
Dawn Richard
Singer Dawn Richards career began in 2004 when she was selected as a member of Danity Kane, a girl group formed under Sean Combs Bad Boy Records. In September 2024, Richard also sued Combs, alleging that he had subjected her to inhumane working conditions and physically and sexually assaulted her during their time working together. While that lawsuit is still ongoing, Richard was called to testify in Combs trial. Over two days of testimony, she claimed to have witnessed Combs repeatedly assault Cassie Ventura, at times for speaking up for herself, and at other times, without provocation. She added that Combs threatened she could go missing if she ever revealed what she had seen. Richard also testified to witnessing him assault his former partner, Kim Porter.
Britney Spears
Although Britney Spears is not directly involved in the case against Sean Combs, her name has come up at least once during the proceedings. In her testimony, Cassie Ventura stated that her relationship with Combs began when he unexpectedly kissed her during the 21st birthday party he threw for her at a Las Vegas club. According to Ventura, Combs arrived at the club with music producer Dallas Austin and pop star Britney Spears. Spears reportedly stayed there with Combs before leaving with him for another party hosted by 50 Cent. The night in question took place on September 7th 2007, just two days before Spears delivered her widely criticized performance at the MTV Video Music Awards.
Suge Knight
The feud at the heart of the East CoastWest Coast hip-hop rivalry pitted Sean Combs and his New York City-based label, Bad Boy Records, against Suge Knight and his Los Angeles-based Death Row Records. Although the beef was reportedly quashed in 1997, Knights name still resurfaced during a testimony given by Combs former personal assistant, David James. James recalled a November 2008 incident in which he ran into Knight in a diner parking lot while out buying cheeseburgers for his boss. Knight was reportedly armed, which led him to rush back to Combs house. According to James, Combs then grabbed three handguns and ordered him to drive back to the diner, seemingly intent on confronting Knight. By the time they returned, however, Knight was gone.
Harve Pierre
A producer and record label executive, Harve Pierre worked with Sean Combs Bad Boy Records right from its inception, and later served as its president from 2008 to 2017. As the lawsuits against Combs began to surface, Pierres name also emerged in connection with several of the allegations. He has been accused of participating in multiple incidents of sexual assault involving Combs and was also named in Dawn Richards lawsuit against the rapper. In her testimony, Richard alleged that Pierre was one of several employees of Combs who witnessed him assault Cassie Ventura. She also claimed that Pierre joined Combs in pressuring her to remain silent about what she had seen.
Yung Miami
Between 2021 and 2024, Yung Miami had an on-again, off-again relationship with Sean Combs. When asked about the allegations against him, she excluded herself, stating that she never experienced that side of him. However, she was soon pulled into the controversy when she was named in two separate lawsuits against Combs. The first, filed by his producer Rodney Jones Jr., alleged that Yung Miami transported narcotics for Combs and also acted as a sex worker for him. The second, brought by a Jane Doe, claimed that after Combs sexually assaulted and impregnated the plaintiff, Yung Miami repeatedly harassed her and pressured her to have an abortion. The rappers name was on a list of high-profile individuals presented to potential jurors at the start of Combs trial.
Kanye West
Another name that reportedly appeared on the list shown to potential jurors was Kanye West, although it is not quite clear if the rapper is directly connected to the case. Nevertheless, West remains one of only a handful of celebrities who have publicly come out in support of Sean Combs. In February 2025, while on an anti-semitic rant on social media, West tweeted that Combs should be released from jail. The following month, he released a song titled Lonely Roads Still Go to Sunshine, featuring vocals from both his daughter, North, and Combs. Following Kid Cudis testimony, West called him out on Twitter, saying he wished Cudi hadnt taken the stand, and offering prayers for Comb and his family.
Usher
Sean Combs was instrumental in Ushers rise to superstardom. He reportedly gave Usher a place to stay when his record label considered dropping him, and served as Executive Producer on Ushers self-titled debut album. Although Usher doesnt appear to have been directly involved in any of the alleged incidents surrounding Combs, singer Dawn Richard testified that he witnessed at least one. According to Richard, Usher was present during a 2010 incident at a West Hollywood restaurant in which Combs allegedly struck Cassie Ventura in the stomach. He wasnt the only high-profile figure at the restaurant that day Richard also named singer Ne-Yo, record executive Jimmy Iovine and rapper Big Daddy Kane as witnesses. However, none of them intervened that day.
Jay-Z
In December 2024, Jay-Z found himself being roped into the controversies involving fellow hip-hop mogul Sean Combs. A civil lawsuit filed by a Jane Doe accused both men of sexually assaulting her at an MTV Video Music Awards after-party in 2000. Jay-Z strongly denied the allegations, calling them a blackmail attempt. Soon after, several inconsistencies in the womans story emerged, including evidence showing that Jay-Z and Combs were in separate locations on the night in question. In February 2025, Jay-Z sued Tony Buzbee, claiming that the allegations had cost him $20 million in contracts. Just days later, the plaintiff dropped her own lawsuit against Jay-Z and the case was dismissed with prejudice. It remains unclear if the rapper will be called upon to testify in Combs trial.
