Top 10 Star Wars References In Anime

Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we are counting down our picks for the Top 10 Best Star Wars Visions Moments. For this list, we’re going to be counting down our picks for the most epic moments to stem from this anime set in a galaxy far, far away. Did you find any of these moments Force-sensitive, or are you glad they’re all non-canon? Make like Yoda and let us know in the comments!

#10: Tsubaki Joins the Dark Side

“Akakiri” And this is why Jedi are forbidden from entering relationships, because stuff like this happens! Haunted by nightmares of killing a masked stranger, wayward Jedi Tsubaki reunites with an old flame in order to help her reclaim her kingdom from a Sith Lord within the royal family. Only for things to go south when she is accidentally killed by his hand. When offered the chance to bring her back to life in exchange for falling to the Dark Side, Tsubaki accepts without question. Guess Anakin wasn’t in the minority after all!

#9: Tobi vs. Inquisitor

“T0-B1” Hey, if Pinocchio can become a real boy, a droid can become a Jedi. Taking on the Inquisitor that murdered his creator, Tobi channels his inner Astro Boy and goes all out, incorporating flashy lightsaber skills and fluid animation as only Science Saru can. He even combines with a fellow droid at one point for that classic mecha goodness. It may be considered more style over substance, but you can’t help but enjoy the spectacle of seeing a tiny robot overcome a Dark Side user.

#8: Kara's Escape

“The Ninth Jedi” Introduced as the spirited daughter of a sabersmith, Kara was shown early on to have some skills with a lightsaber and a minor connection with the Force, both of which are put to the test when her father is kidnapped, and finds herself pursued by Jedi Hunters. Despite her age, Kara swiftly shows what she was capable of, deflecting numerous blasts before branding her incomplete saber and slicing her pursuer’s speeder in half, all the while running over a frozen lake! Give this girl her own anime!

#7: Lop is Chosen

Top 10 Food Wars Moments (Ft. Blake Shepard, Voice of Soma!)

“Lop & Ochō” Family isn’t always bound by blood, as the journey of this anthropomorphic bunny proved. After her adopted sister falls in with the Empire in a misguided attempt to save their home, Lop steps up to the plate to save Ocho from herself. In light of this, Lop‘s adopted father bequeaths her the clan’s lightsaber as well as the title of successor, setting the stage for a bitter confrontation between sisters. This Force is well and truly strong with this bunny.

#6: Bandit Leader vs. Guards

“The Duel Now this is how you introduce a villain. Just as the hired guards start to push back against the horde of bandit-troopers, their leader enters the fray. Not only does she look all kinds of menacing in those heels, but the mysterious villainess is shown to be devilishly capable when it comes to Force-chokes. Oh, and she comes equipped with a lightsaber umbrella, which is the coolest thing ever. Turns out not even a gatling gun is enough to best a Dark Lord when on a rampage.

#5: Karre vs. Am

“The Twins” Oh, Studio Trigger, never change. Both raised to serve the Dark Side, siblings Karre and Am are two immensely powerful Force users set to spearhead the Empire’s return, until a clash of ideologies leads the two to battle it out for control of a Kyber Crystal. Of course, Trigger wouldn’t be Trigger without amping things up to eleven. Between Am channelling her inner General Grievous with multiple lightsabers, all the way to Karre splitting a Star Destroyer in half with a vastly improved Holdo manoeuvre, this brother-sister brawl is the best kind of anime crazy.

#4: Jedi Knight F

“The Village Bride” She may not be one for words, but this masked padawan effortlessly proved herself to be a leading lady in a single scene. Just as a group of raiders arrive to steal away a bride and execute her family, F steps in, unable to remain neutral in the wake of such carnage. Now unmasked and doing away with her padawan status, F reveals how skilled a warrior she is, by brandishing her lightsaber and taking down the raider’s slimy leader in a single stroke. Best girl status right there.

#3: Tajin vs. The Elder

“The Elder” It’s about a classic a Star Wars trope as you can get; Master Jedi vs Sith Lord, and yet here it’s executed so magnificently that it’s already got fans clamouring for more. After sensing a disturbance in the Force, Tajin and his Padawan Dan find themselves confronting an elderly Sith, one who is very eager to cross blades with them. The battle between the two aged masters demonstrates that Trigger can indeed be reserved when it comes to their fight scenes, whilst still delivering on the end result! It also gave us the sagely message that even the strongest Dark Side user eventually falls victim to time. That and a lightsaber blade through the heart.

#2: Ronin vs. Bandit Leader

“The Duel” If there ever was an example that Star Wars and anime were made for each other, it’s this. Following her slaughter of a helpless town’s single last line of defence, the Bandit Leader finds herself facing a lone wanderer, one who isn’t only highly skilled with the force, but also in possession of a red lightsaber. Thus, we have our titular duel, drenched in Kurosawa-esque goodness, complete with an epic showdown along a river, concluding with the Ronin earning a hard-earned victory, one born through deceit and misdirection. He may not fight for the Sith, but that doesn’t mean he’s afraid of employing their tactics!

#1: Acolytes of the Sith

“The Ninth Jedi” Because of course the arguably best episode of the whole anthology would have the best twist. After arriving at the Aerial Temple, Kara seemingly succeeds in her mission of delivering lightsabers to masterless Jedi…and then this happens. The sudden reveal, as well as the ensuing battle royale against the Sith infiltrators, is beautifully animated, all the while providing a worthy payoff for Kara in the form of a fully formed lightsaber of her own. If Production I.G aren’t given the go-ahead to make a full series out of this, it’ll be a crime!
