Sometimes a good buzz is just what the doctor ordered. Welcome to MsMojo, and today we’ll be counting down our picks for the Top 10 Celebrities Who Rock Short Hair.

For this list, we’ll be looking at popular contemporary female celebs only, so even though actresses like Mia Farrow were rocking pixie cuts in the 1970s, they won’t be included. And of course, hairstyles are subject to change, so the short hair doesn’t have to be a permanent look to be applicable.

#10: Zoë Kravitz

Daughter of legendary rock n’ roller Lenny Kravitz and actress Lisa Bonet, Zoe has made a name for herself in the early 21st century with a number of strong performances in films, such as “X-Men: First Class” and “Dope” as well as a role on “Big Little Lies”. While she has rocked a number of different looks over the years, the most striking of them all is when she dyed her hair platinum blonde and opted for a pixie cut. She made the transformation in the spring of 2017 and we’ve got to hand it to her, she looks drop dead gorgeous!

#9: Scarlett Johansson

She's one of the most beautiful and talented actresses of the 21st century, and has earned her status as an A-List celebrity through her versatile roles. Scarlett is aware of her status as a sex symbol and combined with her intelligence, it's hard to think she can get more attractive. She proved us wrong when she opted for a short pixie cut with shaved sides at the 2017 Academy Awards. Simply refreshing!

#8: Emma Watson

For years, Emma Watson’s name was synonymous with one thing: “Harry Potter”. However, since the series ended she has made great strides as both an actress and a humanitarian, with starring roles in films like “Beauty and the Beast” and goodwill tours as a United Nations ambassador. However, that’s not the only thing Watson has changed. She first rocked short hair back in 2011 and in the ensuing years has consistently opted for hairstyles that tend towards shorter cuts. That’s not to say she can’t pull off long hair; one look at her in the aforementioned Disney film proves it, but she is definitely one actress with plenty of different looks at her disposal.

#7: Carey Mulligan

Mulligan, unlike many of her contemporaries, has chosen quality over quantity when it comes to her film roles. While she has only starred in a handful of movies since her debut in 2005, nearly all of them have been critically acclaimed. Another way she distinguishes herself from her fellow actresses is by her style choices. For example, Mulligan has been rocking short hair since 2008, rarely allowing it to grow out. To be honest, we think she’s making the right choice, as few Hollywood celebs look as good with a pixie as she does.

#6: Halle Berry

In a career spanning three decades, Berry has appeared in dozens of movies, and won an Academy Award for the 2001 film “Monster’s Ball”. Even in her 50s, Berry remains one of Hollywood’s hottest actresses. Perhaps that’s due to the fact that her chic haircut keeps her looking 20 years younger! The “X-Men” actress has rocked numerous short cuts throughout the years and it appears one of her most famous characters has followed suit; as Storm adapted the slick look for the 2014 film “X-Men: Days of Future Past”.

#5: Rihanna

Ever since she brought the world under her umbrella, Rihanna has been one of the music industry’s most consistent stars. You know something else that has been consistent? Her haircut! Sure, the singer and actress has dabbled with other hairstyles throughout the years, but for one reason or another she keeps coming back to a cleaner, shorter look. And can you blame her? With her wicked sense of style, movie star good looks and unmatched sex appeal, her haircut is just one of the many things that make her a star.

#4: Charlize Theron

When the first trailer for “Mad Max: Fury Road” was released, jaws dropped around the world for a number of reasons; foremost among them being Charlize Theron’s brazen new look. The South Africa native is no stranger to altering her appearance for a role; most notable of which was the time she gained 30 pounds and wore a pair of fake teeth to portray serial killer Aileen Wuornos in the film “Monster”. Truth be told Theron has rocked short hair a number of times throughout her career, be it platinum blonde pixie cuts or brunette bobs. However, shaving her head to play Furiosa was definitely the most bold of the bunch.

#3: Pink

Few musical artists have kept their hair short as long as Pink has. When she released her debut album “Can’t Take Me Home” in 2000, she did it while rocking a, you guessed it, pink close crop. In the ensuing years, Pink’s hair underwent a number of radical changes, from pink and blonde dreads to a platinum blond shaved skater cut. However, she always seems to come back to a shorter look; often accentuated with a touch of...you guessed it: pink. No point in playing coy after all these years!

#2: Lupita Nyong’o

Lupita Nyong’o quickly became a household name after winning the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her portrayal of abused slave Patsey in the 2013 period drama “12 Years A Slave”. She has since gone on to appear in a number of high profile films all while rocking a number of different hairstyles. While she’s worn her hair in buns, braids and even a Mohawk, it’s her buzz cut that remains her most recognizable look. Sometimes the buzz will turn into a hi-top fade or a natural twist; either way it’s clear that Nyong’o can rock short hair with the best of them!

Before we unveil our top pick, here are a few honorable mentions:

The Mara Sisters

Shailene Woodley

Miley Cyrus

#1: Michelle Williams

Michelle Williams has had no shortage of award-winning roles throughout her career. From her iconic portrayal of Marilyn Monroe in “My Week with Marilyn” to her tortured turn as a grieving mother in “Manchester by the Sea,” it’s clear Williams is one of her generation's greatest actors. However, she’s also one of Hollywood’s leading hairstyle trendsetters. From her 2007 Mia Farrow-inspired pixie to the side swept cut she debuted at the 2010 Cannes Film Festival, it has become clear that Williams feels right at home in shorter hair. You know what they say, if it ain’t broke don’t fix it!
