#10: Britney Spears & Sam Asghari

The music video for Britney Spears’ 2016 single “Slumber Party” almost had a different leading man. But when he failed to show up on time, Spears handpicked Sam Asghari for the job. Sparks flew between them, and by the end of the shoot, they had exchanged numbers. Spears even made the first move, calling Asghari to set up a date. Their romance quickly heated up, and Asghari stood by Spears during her conservatorship battle. The couple announced their engagement in September 2021, and in June 2022, they tied the knot in a star-studded ceremony at their home in California. Sadly, their slumber party was not meant to last, as Asghari filed for divorce the following year, citing irreconcilable differences.

#9: Lady Gaga & Taylor Kinney

About two years after singing of a bad romance, Lady Gaga found herself in what seemed like a good one. While filming the music video for her single “Yoü and I,” she met actor Taylor Kinney, who played her love interest. There was apparently an instant connection after Kinney decided to improvise by kissing Gaga as soon as the cameras started rolling. Although caught off guard, Gaga didn’t mind the surprise, and the two began dating shortly after. On Valentine’s Day 2015, Kinney popped the question with a heart-shaped ring, to which Gaga happily said yes. But what began as a good romance eventually hit a sour note, as just one year later, they called off the engagement and parted ways.

#8: Ric Ocasek & Paulina Porizkova

In 1984, new wave band The Cars struck gold with the song “Drive,” which hit number three on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming their highest-charting single in the U.S. But for frontman Ric Ocasek, the song’s significance went beyond the charts. It was during the music video shoot that he met fashion model Paulina Porizkova, who would eventually become his wife. Porizkova was already nursing a crush on Ocasek and instantly clicked with him, sparking a relationship that would span over 30 years and produce two children. However, as Porizkova later revealed, Ocasek was controlling during their marriage, which probably contributed to them separating in May 2018. But before they could finalize their divorce, Ocasek passed away from heart disease.

#7: Shakira & Gerard Piqué

In 2010, Shakira was chosen to sing the official anthem for the FIFA World Cup, “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa).” The music video featured cameos from football stars such as Lionel Messi, Dani Alves and Spanish defender Gerard Piqué. Both Shakira and Piqué were smitten by each other during the shoot and things moved quickly between them afterwards. They publicly confirmed their relationship in 2011 and welcomed two sons together, though they never went all the way to the altar. In 2022, news broke that Piqué had cheated on Shakira, which led to the couple announcing their separation. They have both moved on to date other people, but Shakira hasn’t been shy to throw shade at Piqué in her songs.

#6: Josh Kelley & Katherine Heigl

Katherine Heigl was already starring on “Grey’s Anatomy” when she appeared in the music video for “Only You,” a track by a rising pop-rock artist named Josh Kelley. The song didn’t just climb into the top ten on the Billboard Adult Top 40 chart, it also set the stage for Kelley’s biggest hit yet: his future marriage. While filming the music video, Kelley and Heigl formed a connection and, before long, they became an item. One year later, they got engaged, with a wedding taking place in 2007, the same year Heigl won an Emmy for her work on “Grey’s Anatomy.” Their love has only continued to wax strong since then, with three kids to show for it.

#5: Jack White & Karen Elson

Five years after divorcing his bandmate Meg, The White Stripes frontman Jack White found love again with model and singer Karen Elson. Their whirlwind romance began on the set of the music video for the band’s 2005 single “Blue Orchid.” Not long after, they were exchanging vows in Manaus, Brazil, with Meg even serving as the maid of honor for the ceremony. White and Elson quickly expanded their family with two children and remained together until 2011 when they announced their split in true rock ‘n’ roll fashion: by throwing a “positive swing bang humdinger” divorce party. While the proceedings got a bit heated at first, they ultimately finalized the divorce amicably in 2013 and continue to maintain a good relationship.

#4: Nick & Vanessa Lachey

Nick Lachey first made waves with 98 Degrees, then gained even more fame due to his marriage to Jessica Simpson. Following their high-profile split in 2005, Lachey poured his heartbreak into his music, penning the song “What's Left of Me.” For the video, then “TRL” VJ Vanessa Minnillo was cast to play Simpson. Although Lachey and Minnillo had crossed paths before, they truly bonded during filming and began dating soon after. Their relationship had its ups and downs, including a brief breakup in 2009, but they reconciled and tied the knot two years later. Now, as proud parents of three, the Lacheys have taken their love story full circle, guiding others on their own romantic journeys as the hosts of “Love Is Blind.”

#3: John Legend & Chrissy Teigen

Today, they are one of Hollywood’s top power couples, but back in the 2000s, John Legend and Chrissy Teigen were still making their way up the ladder. In 2007, Teigen was an unknown model who starred as Legend’s love interest in his “Stereo” music video. The sparks between them were immediate and they reportedly acted on their chemistry that very night. After that fiery start, they wisely decided to pump the brakes and spent the next four years really getting to know each other. By 2011, Legend knew Teigen was “the one” and popped the question during a vacation in the Maldives. The couple exchanged vows in 2013, and four children plus a few more music videos later, they are still going strong.

#2: Enrique Iglesias & Anna Kournikova

Although Enrique Iglesias became a superstar in the mid-1990s, in the eyes of the public, he has been romantically associated with only one woman, his long-time partner Anna Kournikova. They first met in 2001, when Kournikova was still a professional tennis player, on the music video set for Iglesias’ song “Escape.” Their on-screen chemistry was undeniable, and it seems it spilled over into real life, as it didn’t take long before they became an official couple. Despite having no plans to officially tie the knot, claiming that a “piece of paper” wouldn’t change anything, they have remained together ever since, and are now the parents of three children.

#1: Brad Paisley & Kimberly Williams-Paisley

Country star Brad Paisley and actress Kimberly Williams-Paisley officially met for the first time in 2001, but their love story actually started rolling years earlier. Back in 1991, Williams-Paisley landed her big-screen debut in “Father of the Bride,” where she caught Paisley’s eye. He was on a date with someone else when he first saw her on the screen and was instantly captivated. Ten years later, Paisley wrote a song about that date, titled “I'm Gonna Miss Her,” and decided to cast the actual actress in the music video. Their relationship moved swiftly after that. They got engaged in 2002, married the following year and have since welcomed two sons together, proving that sometimes you can indeed manifest things into existence.
