Top 10 Your Mama Jokes In Movies

What did you say about my mama? Welcome to WatchMojo.com and today we’re counting down our picks for the Top 10 Yo Mama Jokes in Movies.

For this list, we will be looking at movie moments where one character insults another character’s mother. Simple enough? Then let’s get the mother insults rolling!

#10: Playing With Your Mama Tonight
“The Waterboy” (1998)

Oh, how we long for the glory days when Adam Sandler produced comedic gold. In this film, he plays waterboy turned football star Bobby Boucher. A sensitive soul, Bobby cares for others and wants to stay on everyone’s good side. During a game, however, he comes across an opposing player who could use a lesson in sportsmanship. When Bobby sends him a good luck wish, he replies with a yo mama joke for the ages. Bobby retaliates against #62, although it ultimately costs his team the game. Well, at least he didn’t say Gatorade was better than H20.

#9: Climbing Off Yer Mum
“snatch.” (2000)

When you work as an enforcer for a crime boss, chances are you’re going to have low tolerance for people’s BS. Then again, if you’re Jason Statham, you can afford to be one hell of a wise guy. That’s what Andy Beckwith’s Errol learns the hard way in this funny comeback scene from “Snatch.” Everyone sometimes get bothered when a third party answers a question when no one asked for his or her input. But if Statham’s Turkish is that third party, then just let him answer and don’t say anything. Otherwise, this will happen.

#8: Your Mom’s Chest Hair
“Mean Girls” (2004)

We’ve all met that one reserved girl in high school that everyone thinks is a weirdo. If you’ve never seen a girl like that, then meet Janis Ian. One thing to consider before picking on a quiet person: be prepared for some major backlash. Some students may sit there and take it if you try to insult them, but not Janis. You have to wonder why girls like this don’t rule over the school with an iron fist. Because with a mouth like that, who wouldn’t be scared of her?

#7: Yo Mama Bonding Time
“Everything Must Go” (2010)

We should all be aware by now that Will Ferrell can drop some hilarious yo mama jokes, considering the embarrassment he put towards his opponent Marty Huggins in “The Campaign.” So when Ferrell’s Nick Halsey gets together with Kenny, played by the son of late rapper The Notorious B.I.G, we’re treated to several funny moments. Kenny tells Nick about the comments bullies make towards him and school, and Nick shares some good ol’ yo mama jokes with the young kid. Yeah, the last joke at the end… well, we’ll let you figure that one out.

#6: Yo Mama’s So Fat…
“The Nutty Professor” (1996)

Combine a Timer’s Guide, Earl Scheib, and the equator, and what do you get? A series of epic revenge burns. Reggie Warrington is a standup comedian who pulls no punches when it comes to making fun Professor Klump’s weight. Unfortunately for Reggie, Klump becomes the suave and witty Buddy Love and gladly gets his revenge. It’s great seeing Dave Chappelle and Eddie Murphy in a comedy battle, even if it means one of the characters’ mothers gets annihilated.

#5: Locker Room Humor
“Remember the Titans” (2000)

If you don’t know whether or not someone likes you, then just insult their mother: if they try to hurt you, then don’t do it again; but if they laugh and say, “hey that was funny,” then you’re in the clear. The football players of T.C. Williams High School have their own way of showing love to their fellow players. Lineman Darryl Stanton starts the mom bashing on Gerry Bertier, who gets angry at first. Once everyone starts telling jokes, though, it becomes a playful moment among teammates. Huh, who would have thought yo mama jokes could help tear down racial barriers?

#4: Yo Mama Battle
“Meet the Spartans” (2008)

If you know your history, you’re aware that Xerxes ruled with great authority and many people did not challenge him. Well, that is until Xerxes sent his best warriors to face off against the titular Spartans in a full-blown, brutal and dangerous battle of…yep, yo mama jokes! Xerxes’ warriors initially put up a good fight, but come on, you know the Spartans always have to come out on top. If you don’t remember how King Xerxes died, don’t worry. Just know that this particular battle did some major damage to his rule.

#3: Slam-Dunk Yo Mama Jokes
“White Men Can’t Jump” (1992)

Wesley Snipes and Woody Harrelson probably have one of the best bromances in film history given all the screen time they’ve shared. In one of their earlier outings, they portray two cocky basketball players that team up and hustle other players for cash. As you know, basketball is a sport with a lot of trash-talk and things can sometimes get personal. But hey, for this list, the more jokes the merrier. We have to give props to any player that can get hit by these jokes and stay focused on the game.

#2: You Want to Talk About Mothers?
“White Chicks” (2004)

Simple life lesson: no matter who you are, you’re not going to get along with everyone you meet. Eventually, you’ll meet someone who will absolutely hate your guts. When FBI agents Kevin and Marcus transform into the Wilson Sisters, they are introduced to Megan and Heather Vandergeld– their sworn enemies. The first encounter goes fantas…wait– no it doesn’t. The insults instantly fly and once the mother bashing starts, it becomes a battle you do not want to be involved in.

Before the reveal our top pick, here are some honorable mentions.
Yo Mama Cheated
“Ender’s Game” (2013)
Who Sent You?
“Die Another Day” (2002)
Just Your Mother
“The Expendables” (2010)
Hadji vs. Monster
“Malibu’s Most Wanted” (2003)
Polly Wants Yo Mama’s Sweet Ass
“Scary Movie 2” (2001)

#1: Your Mother Was a Hamster
“Monty Python and the Holy Grail” (1975)

Anytime this classic film is mentioned, a gut-busting, hilarious moment is going to be brought up. On their way to find the sacred Holy Grail, a snotty soldier stops the Knights of the Round Table. The Frenchman does what he can to make the knights run home to their mothers. Why is there a French castle in the middle of the English countryside, anyway? We have no idea. But one thing's for sure: his creative use of the English language has us in stitches. Whatever he's saying, the delivery of this quotable burn is what earns it the number one spot.
